Good food but I think our server was a bit new as he was not very aware of utensils, cream and sugar and a few other details. I know it is a meat and potatoes kind of place but I was hoping for a more green salad but all they had was taco, steak, or Cobb salad. My son and his girlfriend's burger and fries were good so I am sure it is good for breakfast and lunch

My omelette had the tiniest pieces of dry kielbasa sausage. The tea was warm at best and my husbands omelette was greasy and flat

Not good veggie mix, not very good chicken fried steak, bad cinnamon roll. Not much to say other than this food should cost under $10 for the quality you get. The wait staff seemed to avoid our table, which was kind of annoying when we were trying to leave. Definitely not coming back.

First of all, I'm not a foodie. I just expect good food from someplace that everyone raves about and has had numerous articles written about them.40 years ago I had breakfast there and it was a poor experience. The waitress pushed their home fries even though I said I wasn't interested. I don't recall what I had for breakfast but the home fries must have been on the grill for along time. They were inedible, definitely overcooked. I told the waitress I didn't want them and asked either for something else or just remove them from my plate because those home fries were unattractive to look at. Let's just say she was very rude and huffy after that.Present day, 40 years later. I tried breakfast again. Remembering the home fries incident I ordered tater tots, which were good-pretty difficult to ruin them. I ordered an omelet. Again disappointed. I received an egg pancake wrapped around spinach, mushrooms and swiss cheese. The egg pancake was brown making the eggs overcooked and somewhat bitter. Now, I haven't had lunch there. But with two poor experiences 40 years apart, I will not return.People expect honest reviews here and these are my experiences.Yes, know people rave about this place but twice I didn't receive an enjoyable or edible breakfast.

What a gem in SLO! We are from out of town, but we came for a conference. We were getting ready to drive back home, but decided to stop for breakfast first. I felt like an old fashioned breakfast. So many restaurants today have upscale cuisines. I do enjoy those too. But if you are looking for good, home cooked, warm and cozy feel good food...THIS IS THE PLACE!

We’ve eaten here before and it was fine, not incredible but pretty decent for the price. I got a Belgian waffle with strawberries to go this morning and a couple bites in I noticed that the strawberries tasted kind of off. Sure enough, they all looked fairly old and mushy, and there was at least one moldy strawberry. I only found one but I’m worried I ate some.

Great breakfast spot. Good service and all the menu items you’d expect.

It was delicious! Was visiting SLO, I will come back if ever in town again!

It took 12 minutes from the time we were seated by a wonderful hostess until a waitress came to the table, they were not crowded. Maybe they can use the excuse of no one wants to work. It's a small place however I can't imagine how they have supposedly won the voters award for best breakfast years on running.

THE PLACE in SLO for a Wonderful Breakfast.Louisa's is GREAT. Breakfast there is homestyle and awesome. Be sure to have the bacon and a biscuit with your eggs - unforgettable!Service is excellent at this laid back SLO institution.
