Best restaurant in San Luis Obispo. Never had a bad meal here. The Filet is amazing and Halibut too. There is a vegetarian menu that you can ask for and it has some really delicious selections.
We really enjoyed dinner at Koberl. We hadn't been there before. We started with the charcuterie and cheese board. I don't eat meat but my husband said the prosciutto, speck and linguicia were good although the speck was a little chewy. The cheeses were great! The aged cheddar, blue and Humboldt fog were all yummy. The brie was also good. I had the halibut and my husband had the sea bass special. I liked the halibut a lot. The mushroom ravioli had great flavor. The halibut was perfectly cooked and the sauce was subtle and nice. We shared the molten lava cake for dessert. It was perfect. It was served warm with lots of gooey molten goodness along with berries and ice cream.
The place never disappoints. Oysters and mixed grill were top notch, my wife's duck confit was fantastic as well.
Overall one of the best dining experiences in SLO. Coincidentally the last restaurant we ate at was French Laundry, and the service offered by Eric and Courtney at Koberl surpassed that experience. They were truly that good.
My husband and I want to be kind because the service was good. Our waitress and the wait staff were attentive and polite. When we arrived at the "fine dining" restaurant--- it was so loud, my husband and I could not hear each other at a small table. We tried to say it was lively because of how good the food was. The quality of ingredients was excellent-- beautiful scallops cooked perfectly but they were so salty, they were inedible. We sincerely think there was a terrible error because our entire meal was so salty--- salt in the sugar shaker type of thing. Fully expecting a higher price for a delicious meal, we were quite disgruntled to have left after paying so much to not be able to eat our food. Will not go back, disappointed because the reviews and menu made it look awesome.
Excellent quality, great ambiance. Well worth the price. Our waiter was very friendly, personable, and extremely attentive. Definitely a good experience.
HIghly recommend. Great customer service. Delicous salmon. I needed Vegan, but that menu had to be requested. Didn't know that. Should have vegan food on regular menu so not to bother.... Beautiful place!
The experience at Koberl At Blue was out of the world. We were incredible happy. The food was amazing and the service was even better.
