Cute place, amazing service, awesome food & drink! We tried 2 of the cocktails which were both very tasty and we also shared the yummy fried chicken and pickle appetizer. Will be back the next time I’m in the area :)
Our dinner (with lots of drinks!) at Highwater totally exceeded any expectations that I had - and I had HIGH expectations going into it, knowing the quality cocktails that owner Robin produced when she was at Hatch in Paso Robles. We came here to celebrate my hubby's birthday - there were 12 of us, so we went with the 'Gold Record' group dining package. The first round of food came out and that itself was both delicious and filling (hello, reuben lumpia!), and I would have been totally satisfied if that was our dinner. But to the entire table's amusement, MORE food kept coming out; it was a feast filled with dish after dish of yuminess. From the fried chicken, to the mac and cheese, to the fondue - we ended up taking leftovers home and having a great meal the next day. This was all complimented by amazing craft cocktails - who could turn down a group punch? NOT US. Across our group we must have ordered the entire cocktail menu, with a few delicious mocktails as well. It was a VERY fun night, from the food, to the drinks, to the ambiance (a very hip, music-lover vibe). And at the end of dinner we were surprised with the cutest push pop dessert for the bday celebration. What a thoughtful gesture! I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate with a group. (Also - I have to point out that I emailed prior to our arrival to ask whether they could accommodate a friend's vegetarian diet, and Robin did not hesitate in making sure there was food specific to my friend's needs. What customer service!). I'll absolutely be back and would recommend the food, drinks and entire experience, to anyone. A++++++++++.
If you love a 70s vibe this is the place for you. The decor and music are great. The cocktails are fantastic twists on classic offerings. The food is either unique or classic. We had the Ruben lumpia which was amazing. The pickle appetizer was a diverse mix of pickled flavors. The fried chicken was done to perfection. I think all the cocktails were done well. Not terribly busy around 6:00 but filled up pretty steadily. So definitely try and make a reservation.
Great food! 4/5 of the groups drinks were delicious, the 5th was not especially drinkable. Loved the decor but the music choice didn’t seem to match. Staff was friendly. It gets hot and noisy at the bar but the tables enjoyed a great breeze.
Everything was phenomenal. The chef is outrageously talented. Price. Point. To. portion. ratio… unmatched. Best meal I’ve had in years and the butterfly pea flower, grapefruit and vodka cocktail … just go
Went here with my family for Sunday Brunch. 20/10. Food was delicious, atmosphere was fun and service was wonderful.
Excellent service, amazing cocktails, great atmosphere unfortunately subpar food. I come from a family of foodies but even your average customer would be disappointed. My grits were cold and obviously not made to order. The mushroom racellet had a gummy cheese sauce. Our waiter was so wonderful and I am sorry that I cannot recommend this restaurant. I would usually chock up my experience to a very busy night but there were only 2 other parties dining in the restaurant. Maybe it’s a better bar than restaurant
Great food! Cocktails where some of the best we have ever had. Highly recommend. Amy was great, and the music was rocking and retro
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Trendy place, excellent cocktails. Try the super group menu items like the fish and grits when you go in with family or friends. Or go in for cocktails and order the fondue with delicious veggies
Impressive for SLO! The cocktails are balanced and tasty. For food i only tried the pickles, but they were excellent, these folks know what they are doing. The music is great, obviously.
