We just had an absolutely wonderful halibut, gnocchi, sugar snap peas, and chocolate panna cotta dinner. Everything was superb in flavor. Thank you, Blue Heron, for continuing your tradition of superb dining. You’re our go to favorite on the Central Coast. They are available during COVID for take out.
Closes at 7pm on Friday night. We stood outside unacknowledged for 15 minutes before having the door locked on us with no explanation. After knocking (and a 20 minute Uber ride to get there) we were rudely informed that they were not honoring the hours posted on their website.
The place to have the best in house Sangria ice ever had. Atmosphere is comedy casual classy. The view is amazing at sunset.
Had very high expectations for this place and came in during happy hour. We were not too hungry so had small plates mostly. Tacos were pretty good (for same reason it's hard to find good tacos on the central coast), the rest was just okay. Definitely was disappointed because server wasn't pleased to serve us and had this "I won't serve you" attitude... 3 starts because of ambiance
Great food and atmosphere! Sat outside at night and it was totally comfortable with all of the heaters around.
Blue Heron has it all - atmosphere, cozy, off the beaten path, fabulous clientele,- overall a phenomenal dining experience from start to finish. Every dish had a unique presentation and flavor profile. Definitely within the TOP 3 restaurants of the Los Osos/Morrro Bay area. For excellent lodging choice, stay at their hotel the Back Bay Inn. On the water, and the most beautiful gardens you'll find. Quaint, secluded, & very quiet.

All time favorite in the area. Wife (vegetarian) loves it too. Scallops are amazing. Everything on the menu tasted so far did not disappoint. Good wine selection from nearby wineries.
Great restaurant but felt a bit rushed. We arrived at 6:40 and were out the door at 7:40, including apps and dessert. Beautiful place, good service and food, but we are there to relax and enjoy, slow down a bit!
