Never been to Detroit but I’d go just to see how this pizza stacks up. It amazing the corner piece with the crust is my favorite. Drinks were sting Cheese Sri a where legit. Will be returning for more. Staff was incredibly friendly as well!
Delicious pizza. Deep dish, very filling. It's not the cheapest pizza for the size but it is twice as thick as normal pizza so even though the pizza wasn't huge our family was full.There is a full bar, I may be wrong but I think it's the only pizza place around where you can order cocktails, not just wine and beer.No kids menu, but it's pizza so hopefully your kids are good with sharing whatever you are getting.There is the sweetest older woman with a double personality that serves there. She is delightful.The setting is quirky, it was a traditional Mexican restaurant prior to being Benny's. He repainted and invited customers to bring in photos that cover the wall.
I really wasn't too sure about this place at first. When we walked in I scoped out others' food and the pizza looked a little overcooked and really thick with dough. To our surprise the pizza was REALLY good. It is Detroit style pizza so I guess that means square style. I ordered a Negroni from the bar and it was AMAZING! We went back just for that drink 2 nights in a row. Give this place a try.
Best pizza in town ... you cant go wrong with coming in for a slice or ordering a whole pizza ! Being able to grab a quick slice at lunch with the new hrs is amazing ... kiddos love it ... run into friends ... its the best atmosphere ! When the teens are silent you know its good ! Bennys is just a vibe and its worth checking out
Please dont ever change the decor! I was so unbelievably chuffed and charmed by what you all did with the location on Monterey, such a tribute. Those frescoes are worth preserving, and it's funny. Nobody forgets the pizza place that looks like a Mexican place. The pizza was amazing, but a bit spicy so be warned. That crust is just to die for. We polished off the whole thing in one sitting. Can't wait to go back.

Great pizza, just know this is counter service where it took 50 minutes for our pizza to arrive. Our order of cheese bread also came out with the pizza, so not an appetizer sitch. You will get your soda drinks from the bartenders who go to the kitchen to access the soda fountain. Really enjoyed the food, had excellent interaction with the staff, but just a bit of an odd and cumbersome dining experience. As long as you have the proper expectations, you will be fine. I think next time we'll order take out. Overall, really stoked to have a new place in SLO where we can get a quality pie!
Pizza is fire and the breadsticks are amazing! Professional and friendly bartenders with great prices! Liquid Gravity in a pitcher? Yes please. Owners are also super handsome.
