This used to be our favorite getaway. We would come stay here once or twice a year( for the past 20 years) for the quaint/ beautiful atmosphere and the adorable gift shop and restaurant. There were so many personal touches in the rooms …but no longer. It’s gone downhill since management changed. I’m so disappointed. ?
We visited for the first time, while on the area. My better half had visited many years ago. We waited about 15 mins to be seated, for lunch. No problem for us. There is a gift shop area that we browsed about in, as well as inspecting their dessert counter. We ordered the tomato basil omelette and sliders (choice of 3 - cheddar cheese burger, fried chicken and meatloaf). The food was brought within a timely manner, served hot and of good portion size. It was also very tasty and the price was fair, I thought. Friendly, competent service to boot.
One word, delicious!! The tomato basil omlette was recommended. The robust flavor of basil awakened my senses. The raspberry jam that was made that morning was perfectly paired with the sourdough toast and fresh brewed coffee. What a delightful way to begin a Sunday Morning. The service from our waitress Abby was over the top. I truly hope this restraunt makes it through the continuing struggles of the current events. The core staff has been working hard to carry on. I also hope the priveledged public doesn't judge to harshly. All this and still serving food fit for the gods. If you are looking for a greasy spoon this is not the place.
The food was excellent and pleasant customer service. Try the tuna and fried chicken sandwich
My husband and I have been patrons of the Apple Farm Restaurant for many, many years. It used to be such a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast and lunch. We’ve noticed, however, that the quality of the restaurant has declined over the years, primarily in its menu. After having stayed away from the restaurant for a couple of years, we decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, it’s gotten worse, not better. The lunch menu is quite limited. You would find more offerings at a local diner. The potato soup was rather thin, although the patty melt was okay. For reasons unknown, the restaurant abandoned their signature Apple Farm Salad (a personal favorite) several years ago. The service was okay. But the restaurant definitely lacks the charm and quality of its former days.
We really were looking forward to eating here as we hadn't been in maybe 10 years. Come to find out that the place had been sold to new owners during the pandemic, so don't know if this was part of the problem, but the whole location was a sad shell of its former self. It just didn't have the classy feel that it did last time we came. The restaurant was pretty sad too. Granted, we came about 1pm on a Monday, but the place was mostly empty. It was not clear that we were supposed to order at the front desk, so consequently, we sat at our table for 25 minutes before I went back to the desk and found out that we were supposed to order there. Then, it was about 30 minutes to get the food, which was especially annoying as it was clear that there were hardly any customers. The food was OK, but the whole vibe was just really sad. Will not be returning.
Given that they're just recovering from the pandemic, I could only give then 2 stars just because their temporary menu (hopefully temporary) isn't like their old menu. I miss their scones and muffins that normally come with their meals with blackberry jam! You now order up front, take a number, then sit where you want. They were out of their green chili omelets. So I just went with boring pancakes. If you want water, you can get up and get it yourself. And they bring the food to you. I'd still go back in hopes that they'll soon recover from what's been going on these last couple years. They're still trying to hire employees. I think I only saw two girls working really hard. So it must be hard to keep this business running. I'd like to give them 5 stars but it's not really up to par with how they used to be. Best of luck apple farm inn...
Went here both mornings I was staying at the Apple Farm Inn. Our group of 6 loved our breakfast both days! These negative reviews are a little harsh. We ordered scrambles, omelets, muffins, coffee cake, pastries… everything was really tasty. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Whenever we needed more things (coffee, extra plates, etc) she brought them out quickly. The Apple fritter pancakes are soooo good! The gift shop at the restaurant is charming. They showcase only local vendors. One vendor was actually present giving out samples of her product. All the people giving this place 1 star because it’s not the same as it was before the pandemic need to give the Apple Farm a break… let’s be happy they survived.
I haven’t been to apple farm in over 15 years and I’ll never go back. The food was awful!!!The staff was extremely nice that was the only positive thing.Do not spend your money there!!!
The Apple Farm Inn is the place to go for atmosphere. It is beautiful and quiet. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous The mill house has four rooms and the upstairs rooms have hot tubs on the balcony. Yes, you read right. Your own private hot tub on the balcony. We sat in ours last night under the stars, the moon and the American flag ??. It was the most romantic and relaxing evening we have had. This place is definitely a gem that you don’t want to miss.
