Great place for a drink or snack. The atmosphere is very nice. If you're looking for a big airy place to relax, study or get some work done this is a good choice. The drinks we ordered were really good. Lots of flavor.

Coffee and food is pretty good but this is this slowest coffee place I’ve ever been to. I always order the avocado toast and it takes them 30+ minutes every time. I simply cannot understand why it takes them so long to put avocado on bread. I still love the flavor of the food and the coffee which is why I subject myself to come here but after the last time I was here on a Tuesday (not busy at all) and it took them 40 minutes to make 2 sandwiches, I’m moving on. If you have the time, then this place is very nice. If you have things to do, you’re better off skipping.

So, I don’t usually write reviews but this situation is different…It was morning and I ordered a medium sized mocha. The price was around 5 dollars. They asked me to pay and I slided my card…got my coffee and went outside.Skip to few days later.I was checking my transactions and guess what? The coffee I bought was 58 dollars!Well you might be thinking, maybe you gave them a big tip or you order something else but you didn’t remember.Nope, I didn’t give them a tip and I only ordered a mocha! So what I’m trying to say is, this placed took 58 dollars off of me instead of 5! What a scam!I also provided some proof.

I LOVE this spot. The staff is unbelievably kind and considerate. My wifi went out and I both work from home and am a student, so internet issues completely disrupt my day. I went to Zocalo to use the wifi and they offered to let me sit and work without buying a coffee, it was so kind. I bought a chai and a scone because I wanted to support the business while I was there and both were delightful. The chai is spiced to perfection with just the right amount of foam and the scone was crumbly and delicious. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, truly the perfect environment to plug in and get some work done. Will absolutely be back, one of the better coffee shop experiences I've had in the bay area :)

Love this place! Staff are great. My favorite is the iced lavender matcha with oat milk suggested by the staff. The breakfast biscuit is amazing. I appreciate the community vibe and social justice message. Beautiful inside and out.

very chill vibe, roomy, woody, and they carry Sunday NY Times!

Very disappointing. Cute little coffee spot, however. Be prepared to be accosted when walking in the door! I couldn't even catch my breath before being tackled to show proof of vaccination. I get it but someone should have been at the door checking. I however was rudely asked to present my papers when I was already in the door by a young man and I was embarrassed by the way he asked. Next they did not have any change for a $5 bill so I ended up paying $4 for a weak cup of coffee. It's not like I didn't have it. I just felt like I was fleeced for a tip! Ok so we get over that and decided to order some breakfast. They were out of eggs and fruit at 9:30 in the morning so we settled for a biscuit with bacon. Big mistake. Food arrived in paper baskets and plastic utensils. I know Costco frozen biscuits when I see one. The bacon was as under doneas the biscuit and the miniscule slice of cheese was pretty awful. Not to mention a small tub of applesauce on the side.. All in all this was the worst breakfast experience. AND it cost me $25...wha??? I will support a small business any way, shape or form. When you know better you do better and Zocalo I am pretty positive knows better. Get it together, folks. This mama will not be back. Shame. Great potential...

Zocalo has it all. Large open indoor space, homey ambiance, and lovely coffee and pastries (they also have other food). I really appreciated the sink at the entrance to encourage washing hands. As an out of state visitor it was refreshing to see everyone being respectful of COVID safety protocols while still having a good time. I'll definitely visit again.

Very confusing ordering system with rude staff.Coffee shop has well marked signs of where to order food and pick up food. Apparently these signs have been obsolete for over a year. The coffee shop has changed its system but has not removed the signs. Due to this, it is confusing as to where to pick up your coffee or where to order. My elderly mother was visiting from out of town and went to the correct spot as directed by the signed only to be rudely barked at by staff that she was in the wrong place. Then the staff rolled their eyes and were clearly irritated.I was embarrassed that I picked this coffee house to begin with to catch up for the holidays. There is an ‘us versus them’ attitude with the workers towards the customers that is uncomfortable.Coffee and food are good but the wait and unpleasantness of the staff isn’t worth it.

Really nice atmosphere. My beautiful wife had the hot chocolate, extra chocolate not too sweet and it tasted perfect. I had large coffee with 4 shots of expresso. Really good flavor
