My impression of Los Pericos Taqueria located in the San Leandro Pelton Plaza was that it is an unpretentious place that over delivers in taste and variety of food that you can enjoy from them.It is located in a Town N Country type of shopping center that has somehow retained some visual appeal and charm throughout the years.The large windows that face out invite you to have one more taco as you take in the scenes from the street from your table.I can't wait to return and eat more tacos!
Unfortunately I have to give them a low score SOLEY based on their menudo. I've been taking my family to Los Pericos since 2009. 2 years ago we all went for Sunday breakfast. Most of us ordered menudo. I threw my add ins on and stirred it up. As I watched the beautiful crimson red caldo swirl with onions, chile quebrado and oregano I thought, el oregano tiene muchas ramitas today. 3 big spoonfuls later I realized IT WAS NOT RAMITAS DE OREGANO. It was hair, HAIR! All the bowls had hair. The guy who came to help was very embarrassed and apologized repeatedly. Let me say, la raza que trabaja aquí es muy muy linda. We didn't go back for 2 years because of this but I decided to go today because my mom is out of town (she would not have it!). We ordered the menudo. It was blander than what I remembered, but good. .. until I started to scrape the bottom of the bowl with my spoon. I knew immediately that it was "tierrita". DIRT. This time I didn't complain. I just decided that I need to find another menudo spot. Everything else here is amazing but my mom swears that if they don't clean the menudo they probably don't clean anything else.
I got super burrito with carne asada and honestly the meat was the definition of flavorless. I didn’t want to eat more than half. Hubs ordered the carnitas plate and it was very underwhelming as well. I’m honestly surprised that there’s always people in this restaurant just based on the quality of food. But maybe I ordered the wrong thing?On the plus side, they gave a lot of tortillas with the carnitas plate. And I do appreciate the pico de gallo at the salsa bar since not too many places do that.
Love this place. Me an the hubby & son go here on every other Friday. Love the staff there amazing. There's the lady at the register. Every time I come she's son amazing. I always speak with her Espanol, when ordering our food. # Los pericols they rock.
Glad they had indoor dining when I ate there. Fill your own chip bowls, unlimited salsa, and large portions. I couldn't finish my burrito, I got so full!
I just got back from a trip to Mexico City. We came to your restaurant because they serve us Mexican food, thanks to very tasty nachos and the roast beef is great, good sauce, although it could be spicier.
Went yesterday I got sticker price shock it’s was quite expensive I ordered a super burrito it had no sour cream no cuacamole no cheese if it did I didn’t even see it and a wet super burrito the same thing. I should of brought it to their attention but I didn’t and 2 fountain sodas it was just under $40.00 didn’t like the Al pastor. My son said his burrito was ok
I love everything here. You cant miss. So far I've had tacos , wet burrito, supreme quesadilla, and shrimp cocktail. Will try new things in the future. Supreme Quesadilla is my favorite. Quick and friendly service .
