Simply delicious sushi. I had the omakase and it did not disappoint at all. Every piece of fish is good quality and enjoyable. Even if you don’t order the omakase, you must try the tachiou (large head hairtail) which is a surprising delight. The servers are very attentive. They currently don’t offer paper menus and use an app instead which is a minor annoyance, but the servers helped explain the options to us. I’m happy that Kaisen Don moved from SF to San Leandro !
Excellent service. The food was very good. We had the Ramen, Karaage chicken, rainbow roll, jalapeño tuna roll, and a Philadelphia roll. We will definitely make this our new neighborhood sushi spot.
Got the 6 chirashi bowl combo and it was pretty good. Only thing I gotta say is that the extras thrown in are quite small. Overall everything raw was fresh and delicious.
Great restaurant - amazing quality sushi (I love their chirashi bowls) and great, friendly service. Great family restaurant doing excellent takeout during covid.
I follow a Google review to try the Omakase Don. It's yummy & fresh plus look and taste delicious, I end up go back to get the 6 package. The restaurant itself just became a pick up place. No customers get to enter the door into the restaurant. I did think it's a bit pricey since we are not allowed to enjoy our meal inside the restaurant. And the restaurant now looks like a warehouse stocking all kinds of boxes. So one star minus from 5 for it's price & it's vibe.
Delicious sushi place that won't break your wallet. Their chirashi are the best, and there are many to choose from.
Got a chance to try out Kaisen Don, they're only available for take-out as of now. They're a small little sushi shop that serves top notch fresh sushi. Yes it's definitely not cheap, but you're paying for quality and having tried some pretty awesome Japanese restaurants in my life it's really good!Recommend picking up or ordering through Chownow as Doordash and UberEats takes massive cuts of profits off restaurant deliveries and you also get a free item too if you spend over a certain amount
Hole in the wall but the first is super fresh and delicious. Definitely not cheap but very good fish.
Very rude and confusing to order from. Be very careful as prices are 2xs as much as they say online - I ended up paying way too much for an order because I was going off a menu online that had incorrect prices.
Small sushi rolls, the dons are probably better.
