Didn't catch the name of the gentleman that helped us but he gave the best service I've had at a deli in years. Came for sandwiches and ended up getting some organic sodas, BBQ sauce, and pasta as well. He told us how most products came from Portugal and Italy. Sandwiches were great. Will definitely be back.
Prices are insane! Paid $40 for 2 fillets of Icelandic Cod. It’s not fresh fish if you don’t have the option to buy the whole fish.
My roommate was bragging about this place so I finally stopped by to check it out... I love old-world, deli-butcher shops but this place is a bit disappointing... One of the sandwiches I ordered had stale bread, and the very high priced gravalox salmon was very bland... a few of the products I bought had very expired dates on them - so check the expiration dates on a lot of their items - almost half are past the "best by" date... there are better options nearby (European market in Castro Valley and the new Castro Valley Marketplace)... I wish I could like this place - the people there all seem very nice and helpful... but that's not enough.

Excellent sandwiches. I just had one for the first time and I’ve already decided to be a regular. It’s that good! Plus the staff is welcoming and fast. Stop in if you have a chance.
