Always good food at Fat Fish. Huge sushi variety if you like rolls! Great bento combinations. Pretty good spicy seafood & ramen soup. Some outdoor concrete tables with benches, but they don't clean them. We wipe them & eat outside anyway. Usually pretty quick with meal prep. Small parking lot - which can get full on busy nights. One of our "go-tos" for bentos & sushi.
I usually go to the Pleasanton location which is really good. I went to this location to try it out and it was a huge disappointment. The drop in quality from the Pleasanton location to the San Leandro location was huge. The food was not prepared with fresh ingredients and the overall taste was different for all of my rolls that I ordered. I will not be going back here. Its best that you do the same.
My 1st time trying this place. I used to always walk by it on my 5 mile trek... and want to stop. I finally did and I was a very Happy camper. The food was fresh, the staff friendly and attentive...I like that you order and then sit. I had the Beef dumplings (gyoza) and the Honeymoon Roll if I recall correctly. They also have hot tea and it was wonderful...piping hot! It was just a tad under $20 bucks and I was satisfied!! Their menu is expansive so each time you come try something new.. that what I am gonna do. I look forward to coming back and dining here. There bathroom was also up to par, so overall it was a great experience...kinda of the beaten path but on a main street if that makes sense ??
Great food and fast service. Also more imagination with their sushi rolls that are awesome. Ambiance is a limited but they make up for it with great food! Will go back.
Simply asked for a box to go from the Latina at the register and she rolled her eyes at me… customer service is really not it here really sucks because the food is actually really good but after this definetly sticking to the to go orders.
Food is good but the Latina cashier has a nasty attitude maybe she doesn’t like her job but again it isn’t our fault as customers 12/17/21 7pm
Ordered chicken and beef teriyaki, taste was delicious, good portion for 2. Come with salad, miso soup, and rice.Beef teriyaki was great, bit chewy but taste great.Chicken teriyaki wasn't so good -- Its dry and hard, not freshly grilled, possible precooked end pieces left over.The teriyaki sauce was amazing.Salad dressing definitely ?.Recommended teriyaki place to try.Lots of sushi choicesCan't wait to try the ramen next tim.
They did not use sushi rice and sushi vinegar, and so the rice did not stick. If you are looking for authentic taste, this is not the one.
It's been a little of a family tradition, coming here for years (even more now since we moved from Oakland to San Leandro). Reasonable prices but when you consider the quality and flavors of the food, it's a steal! If you're looking for a good sushi place, look no further! (Gotta remember to take pics before I dig in to the sushi)
Great food and service. I've been going here for 10 plus years and they have by far the best sushi one of the best things about them is the quantity and quality of the food you get. One of the biggest things you got to like is getting a bang for your buck and this is the place to go. I've been to fancy restaurants but this one kicks fancy restaurants but all the time so worth going.
