Just discovered Yas and it’s instantly made it to my favorites. Delicious food served in a family restaurant by warm, charming people, within a relaxing, old-school space.Full bar as well.
Friendly atmosphere. Fabulous food! Servers willing to accommodate our allergy needs. We started with Persian tea, one hot and one iced. Both were so refreshing. For appetizers, we had ash reshte soup (so hearty and comforting), humus with lavash, and garden salad with fantastic house-made dressing. Dinner was fish kabob (salmon cooked to perfection), lemon chicken kabob, fillet kabob, ground beef kabob, steamed chicken in tomato sauce, and jewel polo rice...amazing! Dessert was the best baglava you've ever tasted, and two frozen desserts (bastani and faloodeh) that were absolutely heavenly! Nothing bad on this menu!
Took home Family Style order of Barg, Koobideh and Chicken Kabob along with Tahdeeq which hit the stop. They pack the order with tons of goodies including fresh vegetables and onions. The long stem rice was delicious. The only sad part was that they were out of their Chicken Kabob with Bone which has an amazing marinate.Strongly recommend the food here.
We had the Lamb Barreh Kabob and Chicken Kubideh. The food was quite bland and average. The bread was also not a fresh made one. It was tiny flat pre made squares. Overall, it was an average Persian meal experience.
Where do I begin? The food is exceptional and delicious. As a restaurant manager, I know they choose the highest quality ingredients to keep the taste consistently amazing. The Koobideh takes me back to my childhood, specifically to the village of Farahzaad, where my family and I spent most weekends. You probably remember the scene from Ratatouille when Anton Ego bites into his first bite of Ratatouille. That's the effect I get when I bite into my first bite of Koobideh at Yas. The owners and staff are hospital and so genuinely friendly. Don't let the small place fool you, you'll be in for a treat at Yas Restaurant.
Good food ~ Good service ~ Convenient location
Great people, great atmosphere and great service. I brought some to my parents and they love how tender and tasty the kabab was though healthy. I am more like a salt fan but it is tough when making healthy food tasing so delicious. Have not eaten in a lot of Persian restaurants in San Jose area but it was a bit pricey even for simple stuff like tahdig and hummus.
Their meat was old and smelly, so so so disgusting. Owner did not care when I told her. Would not recommend
Tasteless n prohibitively unreasonably priced. High sounding names of dishes but no taste. Kind of fooling the customers. Its like robbery n nothing else. Keep away. A restaurant that can’t even make rice! Not again!
Persian style restaurant. The two of us order a humus and a chicken/lamb combo. And we could barely finish, so portion is decent. The food is taste and flavorful. The service is on the spot. The cost is about 70.
