The spring rolls were spot on. Every single item we tried was bland. But still we went ahead and enjoyed the food. The food doesn’t have the finesse of high end restaurant. But it’s simple and the taste is subtle and very light on the stomach. Would suggest to go spicy if you love spicy food for Indian palette. The flavours are mild so kind of takes time to grow on you.Due to Covid the serving comes in take out boxes which is not so convenient. I might go back to try other dishes.
We ordered catering from Vegetarian House for our small wedding last weekend. Sunny was very helpful in helping us choose a menu and was able to accommodate three food allergies. We got 7 large platters and it fed 20 people plus had leftovers for days which kept very well and still tasted delicious just being heated up in the microwave! Everyone (vegans and meat eaters) said the food was delicious and we received absolutely no complaints that there wasn't any meat (which is rare for our families - a real credit to how delicious the food was!). The food also tasted professionally prepared without being overly oily or salty like typical restaurant food, and the amount of vegetables made me feel actually healthy eating it while still feeling like a treat. Everyone loved having the variety of dishes that all had different flavors. We ordered:Quinoa Sushi - I was skeptical about this because I usually don't like cucumber/avocado rolls, but this was SO flavorful with the variety of vegetables in it, the quinoa was not bitter at all, and half of it was served with cilantro for those who enjoy cilantro, which was great.Heavenly Salad - really delicious, served with the vinaigrette and peanuts on the side. People didn't eat as much of this but probably because it was cold outside and people were looking for the warm dishes.Golden Thai Vegetables - A delicious Thai coconut curry that was creamy without being heavy. The variety of different vegetables was delicious and this dish tasted great with the jasmine rice. One of my favorites.Broccoli Shiitake Tofu - Got this without the tofu to accommodate allergies - tasted great - not too salty and the broccoli was not overcooked.Spicy Cha Cha - This was a huge hit - everyone gobbled it up even though it was spicy, and the various seasonings/vegetables were amazing with it! Wish we had ordered two large platters of this :)Gourmet Fried Rice - Another huge hit that people fought over for the leftovers so I also wish we ordered more of this. Really delicious fried rice flavor without being oily.Chow Mein - Super delicious, a bit of a smoky flavor but in a really good way. Noodles were perfectly cooked and kept really well for leftovers too!
Once I realized how much resources are needed for animal stock, I made the switch over to plant based nutrients. At first I was expecting 1:1 replacement, but realized this is not a fair comparison. They are two different taste palettes. With that said, the food served here has consistently been amazing for the 5 years I've ordered. Love their avocado tartar and ginger crispy rice dish. Their eggplant dishes, their BBQ dish... You can't really go wrong with their selection.
The good thing that can be said about this food was that it was warm and the portions were reasonable. But the Thai green curry had absolutely no flavor, a super runny texture, and not even a little bit of spiciness or sweetness. The mango salad was not sweet and had no depth of flavor. The lemon tart they have on the menu they didn’t even pretend to make in house, they just handed it to me in the supermarket carton it comes in. They could have at least unwrapped it and put it in a takeout box. The person at the window was not very personable or friendly and they have no table service in their outside seating. The prices were high for what you get, and you had to buy rice separately from the curries which seems like a ripoff. I would definitely never go back and am genuinely surprised this restaurant has stayed around. Maybe it’s because there are so few vegan restaurants in the area that expectations are low.
Feeling a little under the weather all that Hubby n me wanted is some hot flavor some tasty food. But was highly disappointed after spending a huge buck for bland tasteless food which lacked spice, seasoning n arrived cold. Even after requesting to make the food spicy, no attention was paid to that!We ordered Bun hue noodle soup which was way too oily n bland. The spicy cha cha had no spice of what so ever n was hard to chew on. The Kun Pao Tofu again bland n all it had was loads of peanuts n some sauce the taste of which I couldn’t really understand as it was just some red color sauce again flavorless n bland. The chow mein was soggy bland n looked very unappetizing! And the cauli- power was undercooked again bland n no seasoning of any sort. How on earth do you sell such bland, unflavored food with such an exorbitant price! I am passionate chef myself but would never dare to give anything with such poor quality! Highly disappointed n don’t think will ever think of ordering from this place again! I feel it was not worth the money n feels like money flushed down the drain! Such an old institution should be extra cautious n careful while catering food to retain its place in the competitive world!
Tastiest vegan food ever.So many options to try out and all are good.Highly recommend it for vegans and non vegans to try out.Thank you @VegeterianHouse team!!You are awesome ??
We’ve tried at least 6 items on the menu; 3 appetizer and 3 entrees that sums up to be about $75-80. It’s a good deal for a decent vegan meal. Basil fries is meh ?, pot stickers are lit ?, tried two types of noodles - both taste good and lots of greens, the vegan gyro is another amazing ⭐️ item on the menu. Overall this place is good. Not as surprised however that they will bring some of the food to customers and they will expect you to go and get it yourself for “others”.
My wife & I have been coming to Vegetarian House for many years. Currently, they offer take out & dining on their covered porch outside, but not dine in. They have plenty of parking in their lot. If you are dining in, consider ordering in advance so your good is ready when you arrive. There is great food variety here. Some of their spicy food items have a nice tinge to them that you often do not get at other vegan restaurants - but don't worry, the items marked spicy are not going to make you cry. The deserts are also very good. We love the Malaysian Curry Chow Mien for its turmeric & slightly spicy taste, along with texture. We also love the Eggplant Bliss - but eat it ASAP so you get the crunch before it softens. The chocolate cakes are great as well.
"gourmet fried rice" more like mediocre fried rice. As a veggie fried rice connoisseur I must say I've had significantly better fried rice at half the price that this place charges. I appreciate that this establishment is fully vegan but their veggie fried rice needs work. Also they don't do dine in, in case anyone is wondering. And the chairs in their outdoor dining section are uncomfortable if you're short so I'd recommend takeout. Especially takeout because my boyfriend saw a rat running on the top of the fence where there outdoor dining section is. He thought it was cute and thinks it was a field mouse but i hate all rats eek ? ?
