You guys have some rude woman who are at the front to check guest in. I went yesterday with a group of six including my two adult child and a friend and her two teenagers. The woman to check us in was extremely rude. Her eyes are scary with either anger or stress because the power was off. I understand power was off but she should not take it on guest. Her rudeness embarrassed me in front of my family and friends and I did not want to return her rudeness with rudeness as I was out to have relaxing time with family and friends. We went at 8:15 pm and asked for reservations for six. She said power out and she can not serve us. We left. On our way out, the power came back in and I returned and asked her whether she can seat us now since power is back, she said I'm 10 minutes, I said sure and asked whether she needs my name for waiting list for anything. She said no since we are first, I said good, then she acted like bipolar, but we close at 9, so you have half an hour after seated to eat and leave. I said but if I am already seated I can finish my food, she said come tomorrow and she opened her eyes very widely in a mental way. She said she has to serve the people that are already seated. When looked around on my way out, I found the three tables already occupied either had food already on the table or the check on the table which mean they are already served. Given her rudeness and lies, I still didn't want to argue back as a respect to my adult children and my friend and her teenagers that were with me. They need to train their employees to handle stress better and to remember to treat guest with respect. Yikes very negative energy. I was not prepared to meet someone crazy just going to ask for table. Her body language was angry. I would rather she said apology we can serve today. I did not need her rudeness, her telling me to come tomorrow, raising her arms telling me I have to serve all these, telling me 10 minutes to be seated like a popular but leave in 30 minutes after seated because closing. Her face was pure anger and attitude. Interesting experience.

She might be the manager and abusing her power. Who knows.
The Counter is a delicious and filling burger joint to go get a bite to eat. They are in fact dog friendly and are accommodating for dogs. Dogos can get their own cardboard water bowls and even puppy patties. Burgers are very filling and delicious to boot served on a brioche bun. You cannot really go wrong with getting whatever burger speaks to you they are all very good. If you do not want a burger from the menu, you can even create your own burger to suit your cravings as well.Sides are ordered separately or added to burgers. I recommend the half and half style of sides so you can mix and match. The shoe string fries and fried onion rings are where it's really at though. They also serve beers and cocktails. They have a wider selection of cocktails than beers but still have all the standard beers and a few unique brews.Highly recommend the counter if you want a dog friendly burger place that also serves alcohol!
I love love any place that has delicious and healthy vegetarian options. Counter is my top choice for make your own burger - The amount of customization you can add is endless. Truly, sky is the limit. Every ingredient is fresh, and you can tell is cleanly sourced. You can see the photo, how tasty that burger was. I am drooling while writing this review! If you haven't tried Counter Burger, please drop everything you are doing now - and go enjoy!
We ordered two drinks, parmesan fries, a veggie burger and the grilled cheese sandwich. My drink (similar to a vodka tonic, but I can't remember the name) was ok but Hubby's mango margarita (which I also wanted and he ordered) was delicious. The food was good but the nice, unexpected part was that we had asked for the burger to be cut in half and they brought out the half cut pieces on two separate plates with the balsamic sauces. Such a pleasant surprise. Sitting outside was comfortable with the heaters and there was a party on the roof of the hotel across the street that played Punjabi music - a bonus! There was an unexpected automatic service charge (mandatory tip). Obviously we were going to tip because the food and environment were good and we enjoyed ourselves but I don't care for automatic charges like this, so minus a star.
As great as always. Delicious burgers.
Good variety of burgers ? and shakes and Beer and drinks ? on menu in Santana Row
Love the counter food when I eat at other locations. This place had cold fries and the service generally sucked. Slow, no water refill without flagging down someone, I think the busboy is the person who ultimately gave me more water. They weren't all that busy. I guess they just don't need to work very hard to get tips because they automatically get 20%.Weirdest part is we had the wrong burger on our ticket (one with a bunch of upcharges on it). I almost didn't notice just glad my friend did. Mistakes happen, but the explanation we got (and don't even ask for) is that the waiter rings in multiple tickets at once and then splits it up later... That seems like a confusing policy.
We’ve eaten here a couple times and the burgers are decent. Today, though, wow…we walk in just before 2:00pm for a late lunch, took the servers 5 minutes to acknowledge us and seat us and assured us that someone would be right over to take our orders. We sat for another 15 minutes while the servers served the table next to us, checked on the table behind us, and bussed the table across from us all while ignoring us. Several servers and who I believe to be a manager made eye contact with us and then walked the opposite direction. After 15 minutes we go up and walked down the sidewalk to the BBQ restaurant.I’ve never been blatantly ignored this much in my life, even when we were leaving the staff watched us go but didn’t make any effort to inquire as to why we were leaving.Oh, the door to the men’s room needs to be scrubbed clean, it’s disgusting.
I would like to say that the service here is amazing and that's why I gave three stars. The server was welcoming and very attentive to my son, my wife and I. Post pandemic, I feel like this deserves recognition. So 3 stars to the server and no stars to the food. It was terrible. The fries were very thinly cut and old. You can tell because if something is thinly cut, fried and fresh it's crunchy. But this was thinly cut, soggy and tasted of oil. The Buffalo wings we ordered were gamey as hell! Meat comes from farmed animals but cooked and prepared correctly a chicken can taste like magic in your mouth and beef can be soft, juicy and amazing. I know Buffalo wings are the product of farmed chickens but I don't want it to taste like I'm eating a dead animal and that's exactly what I bit into! A dead slowly decomposing fowl. The Bison burger I ordered was prepared with a soft bun that should've been toasted. The onions weren't fresh because they lacked the crunch and the patty was overcooked and it was a jerky burger.Don't go! There are way better burgers at a much more affordable price.
