I had kind of low expectations about this place, it just seems like a good happy hour location near lots of office buildings. There is some really good food here. The mussels dish is absolutely perfect and if you like bread, that is enough for a meal for two. The brussels sprouts with bacon are also fantastic. The pizza is so-so (much better than Papa John's or whatever). Harissa shrimp are good, maybe overcooked to too dry. The pork belly is also delicious, perhaps just a bit overdone. I would go back here and try other things in an instant, service is really good even outside.
Great band the Thursday night I was here. The vibe was excellent! The crowd was friendly and fun. The bar was spacious and had a great outdoor patio space with plenty seating.
So this review is more of a critique than anything. I use to come here a lot precovid. I went yesterday for brunch, and was looking forward to the French toast. But i was so disappointed!!!!!! The French toast was blanketed with an entire layer of a very sweet cream sauce and some nuts. You couldn’t even see the toast. After taking all the sauce off I ate some of the toast and thought it was pretty tasty. But as far as presentation goes, this plate looks lazy. French toast soup is not appetizing to anyone. My suggestion is, French toast with the cream sauce drizzled with some bananas. I really don’t think the nuts where necessary either. Again I do recommend this place because the environment is great. But this dish personally just needs a little change. Tasty toast, not a tasty dish!!
Overall:SP2 hasn't change since my colleges years, which was a very long time ago. The food is average. The atmosphere is good and it's located next to San Pedro Square. We had a large group, which they accommodated. We went on Cinco De Mayo. The had a mariachi band playing live music until 7pm. Crowd seem pretty slow for a holiday.Food:Linguine was not that good. The pasta tasted overcooked. The sauce was average. For the price you pay, I expected better.Hot wings were good here. Flavorful, but not convenient to eat. Probably the best dish I had at the restaurant. The Brussel sprouts were overcooked for us. They also overseason it. I assume it's a hit or miss as others have told me it was good. Take your chances ordering it.The ribs rely heavily on their sauce. I thought the ribs were okay. My friends weren't too pleased with them.Drinks:Sangria was delicious and easy to drink here. Probably their best tasting drink here.Service:Service was very slow here. I had to get my own plates and cutlery since the workers were too busy talking to each other. I wasn't offered water at anytime. When I was able to get an order of food, that's when the service was better. They were able to get the order in and brought to me.Ambience:The restaurant feels more like a club than a restaurant. The room was dark and neutral. Seats were pretty much bar style. They weren't that comfortable. The main focus seems to be the bar.
They usually have live bands on Sunday. DJ plays really great music. Awesome atmosphere. Great place to meet up with friends and day drink/eat/socialize
Food was okay. I'm disappointed in the quality. I used to come here nearly every week. The oysters were flavorless. The ribs... What happened?!? I used to order 2-3 servings if these to take home. The pork belly was disappointing. The burrata and beet salad were the best part. Chicken wings were cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the smokey chili rub.The worst part? It took HALF AN HOUR to get the bill. I wish I were exaggerating. Never again.
The shrimp cevichevwas really good. The mai tai didn't taste like a mai tai at all, more like vodka & lime, but mostly lime. Great atmosphere and friendly servers.
Been to SP2 on 3 different occasions. But the last 2 times I went, not the best service. I do love the atmosphere, see a lot of beautiful people. But the workers there don’t fit the vibe of this establishment. The security guards, waitresses and bartenders are rude as hell. They are not attentive to their customers when it comes down to asking questions or getting service. They pick and choose who they want to help or talk too. In other words…. They discriminate
Excellent food and drinks, I recommend the oysters, shrimp ceviche, and chicken wings.
Looks classy but you'll quickly realize looks aren't everything. It has the potential to be similar to something you'd see at Santana Row, but they don't regulate very well so becomes a trashy environment. You're always guaranteed to see a fight on weekends. I'm 4 for 4 all my times here.
