Super tasty first time but not the last. Will be going back to get my BBQ craving satiated. I think i prefer it over Armadillo Willy's.
The experience was so-so. The food was decent but expensive for what it was and the portion sizes. I didn't care much for the garlic mashed potatoes and chicken gravy as the potatoes had quite a few pieces of potato but it wasn't intentional like you'd see with red mashed potatoes or potato salad so it felt lazy.
While I have had better BBQ before, this is really pretty good. I am dropping 1 star for having to prepay and tip before being served and 1 star because it is fairly expensive for the amount of food you get. I do recommend this restaurant though, it is very good. The mac'n'cheese is excellent but can get over powering if you eat too much. A cup is the perfect amount. The BBQ sauces are all good too but the classic is by far the best when you dip the burnt ends in it. The cornbread is really quite good too but it could be a tad sweeter and it would be perfect. If you're in the area, definitely try this place, but be prepared to be overwhelmed by the price or underwhelmed at the portions. Overall, 4/5 if the prepay requirement evaporated.
If you are a meat person, you definitely should come here.
Confusing order system- order and pay at entrance then find a seat. Excellent smoked meats and a variety of sauces. Sides are good as well. A little pricey for casual bbq, but worth the money!
Fantastic, very high calorie cookies - with every calorie! Popular place, so best to pre-order online. Your cookies will be ready when you let them know you're there.
As I read about the way they make their jalapeño poppers (wolf turds as they call them), I said I had to try them. I can’t eat really spicy food, and I was so pleasantly surprised to be able to eat and really enjoy these poppers. They are about 4 inches long and stuffed with a wonderful cheese and sausage mixture, then wrapped in bacon and broiled. They almost have a sweet flavor, so yummy. We also tried the brisket and ribs with cornbread and a side of nacho fries. The fries were smothered in a cheese sauce and there was a generous portion. Splitting between two of us and we still had leftovers. I would say the only downside is that it’s a little confusing on how to order, but luckily it was slow and our waitress was very helpful.
We had dinner at the Newhall location with friends tonight and we had a great time. Shay, the bartender took our order and made our drinks. Food was great and the atmosphere was too. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Nothing compaired to the 4th street food. Burnt Ends tasteless. Brisket bland. Not my greatest experience in BBQ. They need to step it up. Service was nice. They are helpful and showed care for their customers.
Really good food. We scheduled a pickup and the food was ready a little early so it got a little cold but still tasted great. They did however forget the honey with the cornbread and my daughter's drink. Overall great food but make sure all the items are there before you leave if you are picking up.
