Flavor: too salty for me and so it's hard to tell the true flavor. Definitely not the best ramen I had. Only has pork chashu, no other kind of meat, so the choices are limited.Service: my most recent visit was terrible, waited a long time and when it's almost my turn, they put a sign out which says cash only. So arrogant and waste of time.
Shio ramen is amazing and get 1 of the sides too. Bring cash and a drink if you don’t want to buy theirs.
It's very good. Deep flavor, broth comes out piping hot; very creamy texture. Thick, heavy bowls that retain the heat as well. The spicy miso broth was better than the special pork, but both were excellent. As always, be prepared to wait. We came at 5pm when it was pretty slow and it was still about a 20 minute wait.
This ramen shop is inside mitsua market. They have a variety of options in terms of ramen. There is always the option that they ask: type of ramen, what size and if you want a sideIn terms of the taste, I personally think it's the best ramen in town. There are a bunch of ramen places that are "fancier" but there is something about this that is modest and humble. Depending on when you go, there might be a line. When I went, there wasn't a line so pick your poison. Between the bowl of ramen and the side, this place will fill you up
I found a eyelash in my order - shio ramen when I just took one bite. I told the staff and they just didn’t say anything and headed to kitchen directly. I asked the cashier if they are going to make a new one. She just said oh they have to discuss with the cook. They didn’t apologize and called my number again when the new one has been made. I just felt the service was pretty bad and also the ramen was super oily and not even tasted good!
Pretty good, ordered the B combo with spicy Ramen. The Ramen has a good tooth, the soup is good, they give lots of toppings and it comes nice and hot. It's only $1 more for the large. The ikura and sake don (salmon roe and salmon bowl) is good but they now put it in a plastic clam shell instead of a proper bowl. I much prefer the bowl. Seating can be problematic if you come around lunch or dinner time. The combo costs about $21 which seems a little over-priced to me. Maybe next time I'll just get the Ramen.
Awesome place to get authentic ramen! I always came here whenever I’m in San Jose. The medium size ramen was enough for me since the bone broth was very flavorful. Somehow there were more meat in the ramen than usual. I usually finished the noodles last and couldn’t find any meat left. But this time there were more than 3 pieces of meat and good-sized too! The tables were few and there were plexiglass or plastic barriers between tables. You can pay with credit cards or apple pay not just cash.
Great ramen place. This place is inside a complex with Japanese grocery store, book store, desert places and few other eateries. The ramen was tasty but the seating area was limited, given the long queue at the restaurant. We really enjoyed the spicy miso ramen. Very flavorful and tasty. We had to wait around 35 minutes to get the food served. Unfortunately, it serves no vegetarian options.
One of the original Ramen restaurants in San Jose. They were a handful of the first ramen houses that started even before the Ramen craze. They have been good. Broth is flavorful, they have a food-court style set up thats why I'm taking a star out. The dine in experience could be better. I've seen smaller places with a better dinning setting. But over all, they have been consistently good.
A popular Hokkaido ramen franchise that specializes in miso ramen.Would recommend getting a set with the spicy miso or regular miso ramen. A large upgrade is barely a $1, so a great value if you're hungry. This is also one of the few ramen spots that offers natto as a side dish. Better than hotel restaurant natto, but not quite restaurant-tier yet.The only thing missing to complete the Hokkaido ramen experience is the lack of of a butter addon.
