I have known this place since 2010 while at SJSU. Brought food for my wife. Her first reaction: “Really good!” This is a great place with lots of great food.
My friends and I are regulars at Santi, and love the food! They genuinely care about vegetarian/vegan dietary restrictions and patiently answer any questions you have about it. The service is great - I've mostly interacted with just Cody and May(Hope I got your names right?!), and they're always super nice and kind! A great place to grab a satisfying lunch.Recommendations: The Roti and curry - a great appetizer, Pad Thai's always great! :)
Nice food. Good enough ambience. Neighborhood is not good. Food tastes nice. Servers are good, though only one person is there to handle all customers and thus service is little slow. I would recommend people to give this restaurant a chance and try the food once.
The food was super awesome, and the ambience was really calm and nice. The restaurant also has outdoor dining. We ordered Fried Tofu, Spring rolls, pineapple fried rice and yellow curry. All the food was really tasty and was one of the best I ate in the past few years. Even the dessert, Fried ice cream and Sticky rice with mango was yummy, not too sweet and provided nice comfort at the end. Definitely planning to visit again.
Overall an average place. The vegetarian options are limited. The place is severely understaffed. There is just one person taking orders and serving food but was very courteous. He was trying his best to accommodate everyone. Roti with curry sauce is good.
Absolutely delicious fried rice and tom kha soup. Good consistent quality every time. Great quantity too.
First time to this restaurant. Just looking for some quick hot soup on cold day. Because it is close to SJ state university, there is only 1 hr free parking. The waiter was very nice and friendly. We ordered Thai beef noodle soup and Tom yum noodle soup. They are delicious. The price is little high for noodle soup, not sure if college students can afford.
Whatever I write here is less for Santi. Amazing food, lovely outdoor sitting and oh god the variety, from the chicken satay to the tom yum soup, everything was full of taste. The staff is friendly and the food never ever disappoints, its a cool lowkey spot and definitely a hidden gem.
Unprofessional people working here. Restaurant is open untill 11:00 PM, But they sent us back at 10:00 PM even though they were clearly open with other guests moving in just before us.
I ordered Tom Kha with chicken. The soup is rich and aromatic with all the herbs, lemongrass and lemon leaves. But the food price has increased since the time I read the review.
