Fast, friendly service with great coffee and decent pastries.
The service here is awesome! Decided to stop here on a whim and so glad we did. The atmosphere is very chill and the drinks are reasonably priced.
The best thing about this place is the location, the outdoor terrace and the atmosphere. Coffee just average, I have given this place a few chances now and it’s just not there. Just check out how my flat white looked like (I actually asked if that was the standard and they said yes). The pastries are average as well - croissant and almond croissant weee just disappointing . Really wanted this place to give a chance…come here for the neighbourhood vibe, don’t expect barista quality coffee
Weak lukewarm coffee. Tasted good, but be careful not to add to your usual amount of cream and sugar. It's just not strong enough, disappointing, reviews are not accurate.Update, 15 minutes later....Had to get a refill, because it was weak of course. $3.25 for a refill!Should be no more than a dollar. Outrageous. Downgraded service and overall. Cashier said no refill when I asked. I said really? She says I don't know and looks at me expectantly.... I'm visibly annoyed and she says, I can ask? Yes, please I say. Management told her to give me 50 cents off. One coffee plus refill is 7 bucks. Not cool! Lousy service, overpriced, weak coffee. Also, outdoor seating only. Not a bad arrangement and area, but be warned. And, no restrooms!
They serve Verve coffee here, which is hands down my favorite roaster in the (extended) Bay Area, so I try to stop by here when I'm in the area. The one downside to Roy's is that everything other than their straight black coffee is overly sweetened. It's on a level higher than Starbucks sweetness. Other than that, it's a cool place to drink some coffee with a few friends.
What's not to love ?? Customer service is the first rule for a great experience, and every single person at Roy's is what makes the experience there fun and relaxing. My dog worships the owner and the treats they have for the dogs, and I am addicted to their house coffee as well as the almond milk latte with hazelnut syrup. It's what I call "heaven in a cup on a cold morning" ? ? This place and its location made transitioning from Davis to San Jose much easier because it has the same vibe as Davis and its famous Mishka Cafe. Also the location is a walking distance, so it does remind me of the early morning walks and the chirping of bird in my hometown in Iraq. I am so happy this beautiful place exists ? Thank you! Bear and I are fans for life ???
Will forever be my favorite coffee shop as it has great coffee in a great location with bonus local feel and historical points. Ice oat latte is my jam.-biscottiking
I just come here for the almond croissant, except if you go after 10AM it's more than likely sold out by then. I don't understand why they just don't order more. Coffee is overpriced, but they do have a cute patio area.
PLEASE put something other than 4 eggs and 0.2 oz of meat in the “breakfast burritos”. That is not a burrito. It is scrambled eggs with extra steps. Terribly dry and not good overall.I appreciate the attempt but it falls flat.It is not worth the $6.Feel free to charge $10 for a real breakfast burrito, if you want it on the menu, but it better come with something more than eggs.Real salsa (NOT packaged Tapatio), onions, potatoes, cheese, avocado, sour cream, diced cherry tomatoes, etc etc etc….Take your pick. Put it in there.Coffee is good.
$6 for flavor less Green frappp????? Super disappointed.
