If this is the original, does that imply there are others? Is original always better? Was there some sort of disagreement that took place? Is this all a marketing scheme? Isn’t there a krung thai with in 5 miles? So many questions, and only one mouth to ask and to eat. Find out the answers to these questions and more when you visit the restaurant
I used to eat at the new krung thai because they are very close to where I work. But because I one waiter who keeps taking the phone off the hook after 8 pm and turns away customers after about 8:40 pm just so he can go home on time, I started going here instead and found the food is actually better. The spring rolls at the new one are a little chewy and not that great, whereas the ones here literally melt in your mouth as they are perfectly prepared or whatever they did to make them so darn good. They look exactly the same, but are very different.
Definitely one of my faves. Had the moo kra theim and basil chili garlic, yum.Went back a couple nights ago, mango and sticky rice was in ay, super yummy.
The service was fast and friendly. My papaya salad was just okay friends enjoyed, but didn't love their meals. The shrimp appetizer was a big disappointment; it was basically standard fare breaded fried prawn. Nothing fresh about it.
We've been coming here for the past 14 years and had always felt welcome and comfortable. We always order 4 to 5 platters to include soup which makes it difficult, cumbersome and uncomfortable to sit at a double top table and always ask for a bigger table. Tonight we were denied by all three senior waiters and were ignored after several requests. It was the worst experience and we spent over $120 as we always do only to eat feeling cramped and uncomfortable. We saw four 4-top tables never used during the time we spent at dinner so its not like we would have taken business away. We will never be returning and will be convincing the over 10 other friends and family that we introduced to this establishment and had also been frequenting for at least the last 10 years not to return either. What a petty reason to lose loyal customers. So ridiculous and unprofessional.
The place was quite busy for dinner, but the food was awesome, i love the fried rice in here!!

Hmm this is not best place in town, talking about Thai food. Places is packed. Service is better than other Thai. Food is good. Could be better and more flavorful yes. There are better Thai in San Jose definitely. But it’s a good place. They have a lot of options. Service is good. Pet friendly.
My favorite food is Thai food. In San Jose I had tried a few Thai restaurants but only Krung Thai restaurant I like the most?& I think it’s a great place for anyone like Thai food to try?
