If you're looking for trendy this is not the place for you. This place has a winning formula that has stood up to the test of time and it shows. If you want to make reservations, be certain you have your party of eight all present when you arrive. If you don't your reservation is null and void and it annoys the staff, which is completely understandable.
I got the clams and linguine in white sauce. I tried to do half red and half white sauce but they said it wasn't possible? I worked for a restaurant before an we can make any thing possible so I don't know why jose said no. The calamari strips were well seasoned an the prime rib was soft as butter. All in all very delicious. I would definitely come back for more steak.
Late biz dinner sitting at the bar watching the action packed kitchen. Very tasty food cooked with care and attention. We watched it being cooked. Unbelievable cooperation between the cooks/chefs and waiting staff. Seamless working that is a lesson in teamwork to any business or enterprise. Very impressive restaurant with an unbelievable team - highly recommend a visit.
WOWIf you are looking for a delicious and quiet place for dinner, well, Original Joe's definitely has the delicious down! The prime rib was FANTASTIC, your mouth will thank you even if your waistline doesn't. The salad was fresh and crisp and a perfect appetizer, and unfortunately I left my slice of chocolate cake in the car and wasn't able to enjoy it.The service was just as good as the food, with everyone being so kind and attentive. And while the atmosphere wasn't exactly quiet, it was certainly positive and there was a current good feeling in the air.Highly recommending the prime rib! One of the best I've ever had!
First of all, go hungry or don’t go. Seems like every big city has a place like this. Been there for decades. Some of the decor still in tact. Veterans in the restaurant industry doing the serving and bartending. And the guy who’s been there for ten years is the ‘rookie’. You won’t be sorry for choosing here. Not your well beaten path tourist location. Locals avoid those and at least ten knew the bartender by name in my visit. I had the prime rib—always a litmus test when offered—with a side of ravioli because it’s roots are Italian. Probably the best prime rib I’ve ever had (noted that it is ages in house with their own butcher in charge) and the ravioli…well…mouthwatering. I was trying to opt for a local good gastropub as this advertised as what the locals avoid. But do what I ask. Please don’t avoid it. And make sure and tell Dante at the bar hello. You’ll be glad you did.
Had a wonderful meal there tonight sat at the counter enjoyed watching the cooks make all kinds dishes
We drove to San Jose to try out this wonderful restaurant Originals San Jose Joe's. We use to have one here in Stockton but it closed many years ago and it was one of the best restaurants here. I miss the Shrimp Scampi that was made by those excellent chefs.. So we took a trip there and it was great too but I still miss the sauce those cooks would make here in Stockton.. Our next trip is to the Original Joe's in San Francisco.. Can't wait ?
The host was very kind and our waiter went above and beyond, he was great. The food was delicious as well and the Champagne "J" was Divine. Great evening spent with Family.
Have meant to try it for years. Friends came to visit so we decided to meet here. Food was delicious. Friends had the Eggplant Parmesan and kept talking talking about how good it was. My husband had chicken parmesan and said it was wonderful. Very crispy and flavorful sauce. I had the chicken cacciatore. Lots of sauce to dip bread in, lots of veggies; onions, green and red bell peppers, mushrooms, olives in a well flavored sauce.Waiter was wonderful, friendly, funny, helpful, and attentive without being invasive. Will definitely go back and try some other dishes.
great customer service and great food although i only got garlic ? s and shirley temple
