Super friendly staff, ordered honey lavender latte. Can taste rich flavor of honey and lavender. One tip to share: please tell them explicitly you want latte art, apparently tell them you are going to have coffee in shop rather than to-go is not sufficient.
The pastries are good and so is the coffee. The employees are very nice. It is extremely busy, so don't expect to be in and out quickly. They have seating inside and outside.
To notch coffee and the first time I've tried some really good fusion like coffees. The ube coffee was amazing. Abit on the sweet side but still had great coffee flavors. The tumeric coffee had just the right amount of tumeric with great coffee flavors. Highly recommend getting your coffee fix here if you are a coffee fiend.
Amazing coffee shop in downtown San Jose. Atmosphere was vibrant with pumping music (be warned if you’re not used to louder coffee shops).I arrived at 8AM on Sunday, so it wasn’t too busy. The flavored drinks (I had a Mocha & Ube Latte, both w/ whole milk) do come sweet, so politely ask your barista to work with your preferences and they will accommodate. The food was delicious; I tried the Veggie Quiche, Chorizo Waffle, and Sweet Potato Pie. The quiche had a perfect silky egg texture with a buttery, flaky crust and it was perfectly complemented by the few tomato pieces inside. The waffle was a bit plain with a filling of chorizo and cheese on the inside, but the seasoning was perfect (they do give you syrup and butter to add). The sweet potato pie was sweet but did not overwhelm the flavor of the warm spice blend and you can taste the marshmallow cream they top it off with, it’s definitely an “eat with black coffee” item. These food items were accumulated over many visits, they do fill you up.To end with, the baristas were kind and helpful, greeting everyone upon entry despite being busy supervising food and crafting drinks. I highly recommend everyone try Nirvana Soul.
I love this space: good vibe, food, art, coffee and music. And welcoming service. I love frequenting vibrant places like this…happy I finally tried it after a few months of passing it on the light rail. Easily accessible by public transportation.Only one suggestion I would have is an explanation of the drinks served.
Lovely ambience and cool menu items. I got an oat steamer with the house celebration syrup, good stuff. Was there Fri night and got to hear some music/open mic. They have lots of events so check out their socials for that. I loved the upstairs area--made me think of Slapface (miss that place )! Would love to try other foods/drinks as well. Street parking is doable.
My all time favorite local coffee shop. All the food and drinks are excellent. Tons of variety and something for everyone that you won’t find at every coffee shop, but still has plenty of delicious classics. The staff are all incredibly nice and the ambience is wonderful. Plenty of cool art on display as well. If you go the waffle and cinnamon rolls are great.
WOW! This business is exceptionally managed and it shows through their employees who displayed the upmost care for me and other customers! Please try the Mabuhay Ube Latte it's possibly the greatest drink I've had. 10/10 Recommend support local businesses!
You should visit immediately. This independent coffee shop has a great vibe. The staff is super friendly. The selection of beverages is unique and fresh, not to worry though, you can still get a plain latte or drip coffee. There is a food selection available, both sweet and savory. There is beer on tap!!! Beer! There's outside seating if you are not quite ready to have coffee indoors. There is an upstairs loft for sitting, but also has a display of art from local artists. At the time of this writing, the staff told me that they are hopeful to begin their in-person community events soon. Open mic night, poetry, That sort of stuff. There is limited parking on 1st Street, but there is plenty of parking within a block. The takeaway point is to visit Nirvana Soul.
Very nice spot! Relaxing and welcoming! Well done!
