Here you will find a place where the owners care and deliver quality food, provide friendly and personalized service, and perfectly clean/sanitize each area before and after vacating. Bonus point: They don't rush you to finish your meal, pay, and leave. You don't feel pressure of any kind, so you can calmly enjoy your meal. But be aware: it is a little tiny place, so the waiting time is longer than you will expect. Don't wait until you are hungry to go. Take your time, put your name on the list, go for a walk in Japantown, then come back to eat whatever you want.

Great Service, Great Food, Great Beer Pairing Selections. The owner was super friendly and made excellent suggestions of things for us to try since we were from out of town. Milwaukee actually and our Bucks were on the news on the screen during playoffs. Milwaukee has some great ramen places, but this beat them all. The frozen glass for the beer was a nice touch. Great food experience for sure.

This is one of the best and underrated ramen shops in the Bay Area. I’ve been coming here for 14 years (when I was still in college) and the food/service is top notch. I’ve taken over 30+ people here over the years and my friends have even gone back without me LOL. The crew is like family to me and Mike is the best! My go-to is Shoyu Ramen, gyoza, karaage, and fried rice. The gyoza is handmade and is one of the best! The ramen has a bold flavor, the rice is flavorful, and the karaage is super tasty. Feel free to grab a beer or sake while you’re there too! If you like this review and go there, tell them Kyle sent ya! You won’t regret it! I’ve actually been eating here every week since the pandemic started too I can’t get enough!

Ramen was amazing, don't forget to add your egg!

Never had a Katsu Curry Ramen before. I’ve always had them separately. This was super yummy. It’s a tiny place, so there might be a line. Don’t go if you’re in a rush, gotta enjoy this!

We tend to come here for lunch on the weekends. Nice little Ramen shop in Japan Town with friendly staff and great food! I usually get the Vegetable & Tofu Ramen, Hiyayako and the Daikon Salad, while the rest of the family loves the Tonkatsu Ramen, Shumai and Calamari.

12 people in the restaurant and 4 workers. It seemed to be a little slow for service. Took about 10 minutes to get our order placed. Also, when finished, we waited about as long for the check. At that point there was only 2 other people in the restaurant. They have no VEGAN options which was certainly disappointing.

First timers at Kumako. We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, gyoza, shumai and charsu don mini donburi. We were seated quickly on a Saturday evening and served promptly. The stand out dish was the charsu don for me.

Came for lunch on a weekend. I had the Tan Tan ramen - it was pretty good with nice spice level, but on the salty side. Also tried their gyoza since it's apparently voted best on the Silicon Valley - it was indeed tasty but imo over priced at ~$8 for 5 pieces. Overall, a good lunch spot if you want ramen in the area.

Came here for lunch on a Thursday. It was a little busy since the place is small. There are only a couple tables and a bar stool area. As soon as we were seated our orders were taken. We ordered the Siu Mai it came with wasabi and soy sauce. It was good. Then I ordered the kids shoyu for my toddler that loves noodles. It was a good size for $9. My teen ordered the gyudon rice bowl. I ordered the katsu curry ramen. The katsu was crispy and still moist. The curry broth was full of flavor. Definitely a must try. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes. Check out my IG for more pictures @foodie_wit_a_bootie_408
