The outdoor patio for El Maza is so lovely on a summer evening and the staff is exceedingly friendly. It feels like a neighborhood stop, but it's a hidden oasis and the food is out of this world. The fish tacos are seriously some of the best I've had in the South Bay. Period. We also had the Pescado and the mango and shrimp tostada's. I liked both, but the mango and shrimp one has me drooling for more. The Margarita was good too! We'll be back soon!
Let's see, if you don't speak Spanish, that's an issue here. Food took a while but was decent. Nothing spectacular. Meat was kinda over cooked and dry. I had a paloma, little did I know there was jalapeno in it. Who the heck puts a jalapeno in a paloma if I didn't ask for it. The waitress's were kind of overwhelmed. Never asked if I wanted another drink. We sat there for over 20 minutes for our check that never came. Finally we had to ask for it to pay our bill. Ehhh not sure if we'll try this place again......the horchata was good
The place has a very nice ambience and is decorated with a unique traditional tropical Mexican restaurant but elegant at the same time. Welcoming and friendly waitresses.Variety menu not only of seafood but also meat and chicken. The sushi menu with Mexican touch is fantastic!.Prices are quite comparable to other similar seafood restaurants.I highly recommend this place.
I would loooove to give 5 stars, but 4 is pretty great.We love to eat seafood (mariscos) and sinaloa seafood is one of the best. Here you have a lot of options of hot and cold dishes. We ordered camarones cucharacga, ceviche mixto (with cooked shrimp) and beef tacos (for the kid).The cucaracha were our favorites, the spicy and flavor were amazing. The ceviche was great, with great flavor. The tacos were tacos but well serve and tasty beef. The food was amazing and we really enjoy it.The patio is great, pretty big and with table space for these times.The reason i could not give 5 stars, was the service, the servers were very friendly and very attentive customer but there were only 2 servers for the whole restaurant, 1 bargirl and that's it, so the service was soooo slow that we waited more than 40 minutes for our food. They were not able to bring more chips because they were out of them. Even the drinks, even water, took a lot to came to the table.I totally recommend the place, just come having in mind the time you will wait for the food.

Hands down the best Mariscos in town, fresh, flavorful, and made perfectly. I’d suggest trying the Aguachile or the Tacos Capeados!

Lo segundo mas importante de un restaurante es el servicio, y el servicio de El Mazatleco es excelente. Hemos visitado este restaurante en varias ocasiones y todas esas ocasiones nos han hecho sentir como en casa y la comida ha sido todas la veces sabrosisima y consistente. San Jose necesita mas restaurantes como El Mazatleco, San Jose necesita mas lugares que en verdad sepan lo que es ofrecer comida y servicio de calidad como El Mazatleco.
