First bite of the burrito was most memorable. I knew right away I was in for a good experience. Their orange sauce didn't pair well with it, but I couldn't help but add it anyways because it tasted pretty damn good. Service was very polite, even when we didn't realize we were keeping them open and prevented them from cleaning up thr restaurant.I want to be annoyed that they forgot our drink orders and had to be reminded a couple times, but we did get there fairly late and it seemed like we were keeping the kitchen open longer than they were hoping.Overall, worth a try.
Cali Spartan Kitchen -- San Jose, CA.- Carne Asada Tacos (3 for $6) and $2.50 each/additional tacos- Cali Mimosa ($30)cali spartan is not only one of my fav spots around the area but a staple spot for a lot of sjsu students whether its a lunch time meal or late night snack - asada (steak) and pollo (chicken) tacos are usually my go to along with the orange sauce. this time around was also my first time getting (this large sized) mimosa here and it was so much fun drinking it with friends. if yall are in the area then make sure to stop by and try these two items on the menu!!tip:unisex bathroom available, indoor and outdoor dining available and most importantly-- CASH ONLY!!parking lot and street parking is available ?
If you live in SJ + haven't been here wyd!!! Dipping the quesabirrias into the flavorful consommé (broth) + eating was an ✨experience✨that I recommend to everyone. The portion for one order (3 for $10) of the quesabirrias was perfect for me. Their other tacos + orange sauce are solid as well, and their menu is pretty extensive with the food/drink options. Parking can get tough during peak hours with the tight lot.
very delicious, we had the birria tacos and super burrito. their house sauces were very good. the wait was a little long but no worries was well worth it.
Def our favorite Mexican joint! Cash only and totally worth the wait and drive. Wide selection of tacos, sopes, quesadilla, Huarache, Milanese cordon bleu chicken and steak, such fresh guacamole, and meats! Always solid and don't wanna live without
I ordered a cali burrito with brisket and this was one of the most amazing burritos I ever had. The French fries in the burrito were super crispy and delicious too. That orange sauce is also better than La Vic!
OMGeeeee!!! Hidden gem. We've experienced local and far away restaurants, BUT this place is HOTT! Their shrimp michelada was on point. By far, one of the best in San Jose. We have our #1 local spot for shrimp micheladas, but this is now going to be our to go to spot. The Cali asada fries were crips, tasty, and flavorful. We also tried the quesabirria tacos and the consome. Their portions were generous. The consome was full of flavor, not salty but near perfect. And the asada Tostadas were really great too, not too dry or burnt. Really fun ambience. We will definitely be coming back.
Food was good. I recommend the beef tongue. The queso birra tacos are ok only, not so great.
Food is amazing here. The problem is the service. Has so much potential to be one of the best “go to” spots in San Jose and the experience was ruined by a 45 minute wait time for some asada fries and 2 tacos. They lost our order and gave us a excuse that it takes 45 minutes to make the tacos. A party of two sat down got their appetizer and food and left before we got tired after an hour wait. A party of 6 got served before us (a party of two). And worst of all I brought my dad, whom I never get the chance to hangout with. Needless to say it ruined my night. I think this place has, again, so much potential, but their service is utter garbage. Shout out to cashier that didn’t make us pay for our drinks. Felt bad that she was the one that apologized when she was working hard and was not at fault. I would’ve payed to see what a Karen would’ve done in my position.
great tacos will definitely come back!
