Yummy food and great staff. Even got water for my puppy.
Nice enough as dive bars go. Trivia Tuesday is fun. Go for the homemade chips and dip. Not much else to eat if you're gluten free.
I’ve been here twice. Food is pretty much “bar food”, so don’t have high expectations. I knew it’s not going the best meal ever….!!! Of course combine that with British culinary and you know you’re not eating anything special. The bangers are usually the ordinary sausage and chips are potato fries. Last time I had the stake and kidney which I regret ordering it. This time I thought I’ll try something else. I didn’t have the Shepherds pie but I’ve heard from others it’s not that great. We ordered four different meals. The stake sandwich looked ok. The Cornish pastie was super dry and we had to ask for extra Garvey and that didn’t help either. Same thing with the chicken pot pie it was too dry. The side veggies were steamed. I usually pick on my family’s dishes when there’s veggies but these looked nothing appetizing so I didn’t even bother tasting them. I ordered the Patti melt which I think it was the most better looking of all four meals and yet not the best Patti melt out there. The Patti was much smaller than the rye bred and the bread was somewhat to the burned side and greasy. I ordered a side salad but the lettuce was old and turning yellowish red around the edges. I ate my food because I was hungry but I don’t think I would order food at this place again. If it wasn’t for my family, I would r even go there again. Service was very slow but the waitress was new and she apologized for being new and not familiar with everything.
This place has been around for a long time. It's a fun place to see live music. There's even a dance floor. It's a fun atmosphere.
We went today for a Disneyland trivia event. The trivia event was fine. The cost was reasonable and we had a good time. The main issue was the food and the service.I'll start with the drinks: we ordered one Cabo Cooler and one Hella Hawaiian. The Cabo Cooler was supposed to have muddled cucumbers and lime juice. All it had was a cucumber slices and a lime wedge. It was an entire glass of straight tequila. The drink was terrible and the bartender was lazy. The Hella Hawaiian was a watered down mess. I am sure these drinks work on the normal soused crowd but Britannia Arms and the bartender should be ashamed. Maybe a college town is where you'd find this quality of drinks. Now to the food: the kids meals were fine, chicken fingers and fried fish. Good portions for kids. We also ordered the grilled cheese, which came out burnt. Way beyond toasted. We could scrape the carbon off. We also got the patty melt that included the smallest burger patty I've ever seen. Like the kind of patty you'd find in a single $1 cheeseburger at McDonalds. The grilled onions were still slightly raw and it was missing the 1000 island dressing. Very disappointing for $14 and $16 dollars. The prices are out of control for what you get. This was about 2x what the price should be.The service was fast but the servers are clueless. If a table is playing trivia and in the middle of answering a question, maybe interrupting them to take their order or deliver food is not the right time.Overall, really poor since we were last here for trivia. Since the answering is on your phone, I'd honestly prefer their old COVID format of playing at home. At least you'd get something good to eat.
This establishment really cares about the customer and what they order and they get it done, right. I ordered Corned Beef & Cabbage, which was a large meal. And, Potato Skins w/sour cream was beyond delicious. Both items I had leftovers. The employees are sweet and they deliver as ordered. Cannot say enough about a great place to eat and meal.
The fish was fresh, light, and crispy. The chips are nothing more than French fries. The best I could say about the Reuben sandwich is that it was sad. The Shepard pie was dry and I cannot recommend. We will stick to the fish and switch to the onion rings.
Been going here for years. Always fun. Hasn't changed much but that's not a negative. Good beer and good food. Cool atmosphere.
Full disclosure: My uncle's business (Outer Limits Amusement) runs the jukebox in this pub.Today, my uncle and I went horseback riding in Milpitas at Ed Levin Park as both a belated birthday gift to myself and as research for some of my upcoming books. And I had an AWESOME time!Anyway, after the ride, my uncle was in the mood for New England clam chowder, and he LOVES Britannia Arms's chowder. Because it was warm (and warmer still on horseback in the bright sun), I wasn't in the mood for soup but actually craved a good burger, so I got the Brit Burger with cheese and a side of fries. And it was good. (Why is it burgers at restaurants are always so much better than I can make them at home?)The atmosphere at the Brit is pleasant. People were eating outdoors or on the bottom level indoors, but my uncle and I went up the ramp and sat alongside the bar. Men were clustered around the bar, watching the Olympics and a soccer match, and music was playing overhead. My uncle asked about the singer, and that began a conversation between all of us around the bar about groups. All in all, it was a good lunch. Good food. Fun atmosphere. Lively music discussion. The next time I go, I'll have to try some authentic British fare. Fish and chips, here I come!
Best Shepards pie ever ? absolutely great atmosphere…. Food beyond amazing and service was great as well
