We definitely had a few items that were "must tries" for us. We normally do not frequent Will Glen just because of the parking and the crowds that sometimes come with the hype of some places. But we came in on Wednesday evening and it was nice and quiet and comfortable. Our server (a young woman who's name I didn't get) was very friendly and helpful. The bartender was welcoming too. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is one of the servers there was a bit pretentious. I asked him for a steak knife because my ny strip was served without one and the look he gave me was incredibly rude. I just got this vibe that my husband and I weren't hip enough for him to pay attention to us even though we were paying customers. The saving grace of that rudeness was the owner (I think) who came over and talked with my husband and I after our meal concluded, about his menu and brunch on the weekends. Overall we were impressed by everything we ate. The spot is small, but cute, however it was warm and stuffy in there-6:30 in the evening. Maybe no AC or it wasn't on. We'd go again on a weekday.
Food was amazing, specifically Benedict and Cheddar Beignets. Only negative was it took a loooong time. About an hour for our food, reservations for a party of 5.
We just tried Braise for the first time Friday night. It has nice outdoor and indoor seating and the staff was very attentive. We began with the smoked carrot dip, which was unusual and good, perfect for two people to share. I had the chorizo crusted halibut. I have never had a dish like this, the fish was light and flaky, and the chorizo had a nice counterpoint. It was served over beans and cut vegetables in a wonderful broth, along with a few clams. It was bright and very flavorful. In short; delicious! My wife had the burger, and upon trying a bite I found it to be outstanding as well. For dessert we split the pots de creme - small but a perfect end to the meal, rich and scrumptious. Braise hit on all levels and we will be trying it again soon.
Always great spirits, food and service here. We started with a Negroni and highball and then shared the papaya salad, pb and j with marrow and the buttermilk fried chicken. Michaela was exceptional as our server. Outdoor dining and just a perfect evening.
First time dining at Braise and it did not disappoint! We had Brunch which was really great! My husband and I were visiting for a couple days and did not have very good experience at other dining establishments in San Jose. Until I dined at Braise, I vowed to visit the city again. Food and service was impeccable! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Great food and service. I wish I remembered our servers name because he was awesome.
Before today we’d never been here, but are local to Willow Glen and had been meaning to check it out for some time. This place is PHENOMENAL. The food is incredible, the flavor is delightful with every dish. The preparation is so thoughtful. I typically don’t like mushrooms and I couldn’t get enough of the ones in the gnocchi dish. The cocktails also were fantastic, so much flavor and character. Definitely going again.
I've loved eating here! The selection from food to drinks never disappoints
Drinks are delicious. The wait staff was super friendly and always checked in on us. Definitely recommend the cheese beignets for brunch!
This was my second time dining there and it wasnât as good as the first time (which was good, but not great). They seemed much busier so I think service and food suffered. The first time I ordered the chicken liver mousse, it came with griddled zucchini bread and was served on a large plate with the mousse in a terrine. This time the mousse was slopped onto a side plate with crostini thrown on the side, it didnât look like an appetizer at all. My husband and I both ordered the steak rare and mine was served medium rare while his was medium well. I also heard the next table over mention their steak was over cooked as well. Drinks were fine, nothing special. With the menu being so limited, they really need to perfect what they offer. Iâm not sure Iâd try this restaurant a third time.
