Where to begin. I’m going to preface this with the fact that I’ve lived in nyc all my life and have had a very wide range of nyc slices. You could call this an “nyc style” slice, not a nyc slice. I’ll break it down into a few categories for those who are planning to visit.Taste:The taste is almost there. The cheese is very oily (most nyc slices nowadays are not that oily even with pepperoni) and the crust has a similar flavor. Pepperoni was below average to be honest. The red sauce is below average, tastes like generic red sauce and lacks any significant flavor.Form:The crust at the top of the pizza was good. Crunchy, folds nicely. That’s where the good things end though. The crust for the rest of the pizza (the part under the sauce and cheese) was abysmal. It was probably the worst part of the entire slice. It was flimsier than dollar pizza in nyc, and had absolutely zero flavor. If you told me they forgot to cook it I’d believe you.Price:So you’re telling me that a pepperoni slice which is smaller than a traditional nyc slice costs $5.50? Then to top it off they have a surcharge on top of that??? Joe’s pizza, a very well known pizza shop in the heart of nyc, is a full dollar cheaper per slice and is a larger slice. If this pizza was $3 or less I could bear with its shortcomings, but for $5.50 I’m expecting it to taste damn close to a nyc slice.Final verdict:If you’re a New Yorker, maybe come here once to try it but it’s honestly not worth the trip nor the price. You’re more than likely going to be disappointed. Everyone else, it’s a half decent slice. The price itself is what makes it hard to recommend to begin with. If you’re really craving a slice of pizza I’d agree that there aren’t many options other than this, but it’s just too disappointing for me to recommend it at all.
Native NYer Bay Area Transplant:This is actual NY pizza. Idk if they’re flying in the champagne of tap water from NY but this crust, cheese, and sauce ratio hits on all levels.$5.30 / slice is a little wild but I’m not mad. Cheaper than a plane ticket home.???
My New Yorker husband says this is legit NY style pizza.
BEST. PIZZA. EVER. You know they got it down when the Classic Margherita is amazing. So awesome how they also sell slushies and garlic knots. Whenever we feel down, this place always makes the day better.Fun fact: my fiancé got a whole large pizza pie instead of a cake for his birthday. Needless to say, this beat having cake and he loved it :)
Grab a slice while your car is in for service nearby.
Best pizza I’ve ever had. Mouth-watering flavors, thin, and the crust is AMAZING. And this is coming from an east coast-er!! The people behind the operation have the kindest souls, too:-)
Take home Calzone & half lrg classic pepperoni pizza ? ? ? half white pie was phenomenal. Closed Mondays. Excited to start working near this place! Always better to eat there but gets busy! You won't be disappointed ? ?
Quite possibly the best pizza we've had in the South Bay area. And definitely closest one can get to an NY style pizza around here. Got the cheese, pepperoni and the margherita. Cheesecake was nice and on top of it, service was excellent.
The crust is the best ever. The city pizza gives you meat and vegetables all in one meal. The large pizza was actually a large pizza and truly filled or overfilled the box and I had to freeze half of it because it was so big and you can see that the slices were way larger than my hand.
Pizza to go, great for takeout . A pizza slice is about $7.00 including 8% surcharge . it is located beside Stevens creek surplus shop. you can park in front of the store while waiting for your order. staff is friendly and helpful.i tried the buffalo chicken it is a bit spicy but its good. They also have cheese, pepperoni and margarita pizza.
