UPDATE April 2022 NEW OWNERSHIP Authenticity went downwards significantly. Most Sauces we tried this time felt store bought. Old staff replaced, chips and salsa while you wait is not something we look foreword to, surviving menu feels more fast food, like Pepe's on main st. We got less for our money this time on a non busy day, cant imagine what would be on a weekend. The "Luna" decor now features a Moss venue..its everywhere..on frames, walls, and even behind the Tv and lighting, i dared not entered the bathroom. I like change but for the better, but for now its a loss on the consumer side. Hopefully it decides what it wants to be.((2020 review: #1 in town. Best Real mexican plates, lunch specials and great portions!! The service and unique desserts make you feel at home))

Love Lunas!!!! Their cocktails and aguas are amazing (horchata was so good)! I’ve had their chiles rellenos and molcajete and both were super tasty! Food and drinks aside, the owner came to our table, served our food and was super super sweet! She was personable and even threw in some goodies. I’d come here for great Mexican food and drinks any day! I also found out today that they have a pink room for a girls night out - how cute! They’ve recently undergone some cute renovations that brighten up the place.

Such a bad experience. I’ve been to this restaurant over 7 times and 5 out of 7 times I have received my order and a friend of mines incorrectly. The owner of the restaurant came out to try and resolve the situation but applied pressure immediately and raised his voice very loud. The waitress accused us of giving her a hard time which was not true at all. The owner started to explain to us his prices of ingredients and cheese. This had nothing to do with what we were asking. BE CAREFUL!

We ordered our food for pick up. Food was not made until my husband arrived. Shrimp cocktails were not as described on menu. Diced avocados were substitute for celery, not my request. "Special Sauce" , nothing specials. Shrimp was not fresh, thawed from frozen bag. Cocktails didn't come with saltine crackers. The chile were a bit too watert with no salt for our taste. We've been waiting for so long to try food from this establishment but unfortunately we are so disappointed.

Unbelievable !!!!Aint nothing like the original owners. The food is completly different. Not the same at all and definately not authenic. Service is bad and no paper menu. Makes it difficult to order food The restaurant looks like a complete jungle and not mexican style at all. Poor choice in decoration decision. The bar chairs are not safe to sit on. They easily move forward. Sorry to say but i will never return back.

The restaurant was recently updated and is so beautiful. Great cocktail menu and yummy food. Best queso fundido I've had in LA.

I really enjoyed this place atmosphere...Clean friendly respectable place....About the food.... I can't say much...BUTThe dish I preferred for this special occasion was finger licking.... Great savory taste...just the right amount and really colorful.Today I will rate 5 stars and will be bringing more family members to challenge their tasta buds.Thank you for your hospitality.

New owners, changed food and prices! Service was ok. I have been coming here for 8 yrs. Old owner was excellent and so was food. Went in only twice when we would go 3 times a month. First time with new owner we had to pay for our chips and salsa and our tacos were burnt and so was the meat inside!! So I said lets give it another try. TERRIBLE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. They’ve lost a lot of business. The place was always packed now it’s maybe 8 people on a Friday night! I miss the old Lunas and the Great Food.

Excellent food & service! We arrived at 5:50 & didn't know they closed at 6 on Sundays. They were gracious & served a wonderful meal without making us feel rushed♡ First time here & the food was so good!!! We will certainly be back - next time much earlier! Thank you♡

Before the change in ownership, I really liked Lunas. The food was good, and the prices were standard for a sit-down restaurant. Good value for your dollars. I recently had a late lunch at the new Lunas. Unfortunately, the food has changed and not for the better. Both the food and service were terrible. A friend who had lunch with me had been there before and thought she might give them a second chance. She said it was worse the second time. We won't be returning. It's sad because I want to support local, small restaurants.
