Felt like we were transported to Vietnam! They renovated the entire restaurant and it’s kept pretty clean everywhere I looked. All the staff were soooo genuinely friendly, kind, and very friendly not only to customers, but also with each other. They seemed to be having a good time despite how busy they were. The foods were… just… ??????!!! The hen with red rice came with the clear broth pork soup and the entire hen! The portion size was so big for the price and every bite, delicious!! Made soup with the leftover chicken and it was so good. Found a piece of a peppercorn and a clove in the chicken? The charbroiled pork dish was wholesome and the meatball spring rolls was sooo good! Can’t wait to go back to this jewel of San Gabriel ?
Went in and tried 3 dishes. Their pho was OK but the other two items I had were great. I believe it was the appetizer combo and other vermicelli dish. Their black coffee is also delicious. Not too sweet and coffee didn't taste bitter from being burnt. Restaurant was clean. From what I could hear server speaks both Cantonese and Vietnamese.
Good food and customer service. Worth trying while you are in town
Really good combo broken rice. Try the #16, good portion for 2 people to share. The older ladies there are really nice and friendly.
My party's order was messed up at first, but it was corrected quickly. The food is good, though.
They have the best fried cornish hen with red rice that I've ever had. The meat had a lot of flavor and was not dry. The portions are pretty big too. I would recommend this place
Cheap and delicious Vietnamese food. Was able to feed 6 of us with $70. Delicious broken rice
Brought my friend here to try vietnamese broken rice. Recommended the 10 item special combo rice plate. Portion is huge and the food is flavorful and not greasy. Highly recommend!
I didn't realized this place recently had changed owner, when I googled Com Tam Thuan Kieu on Valley in San Gabriel when I dialed the number Placed ordered togo , I was assumed this is Com Tam Thuan Kieu , however on the other ends whoever took my ordered did not tells me this restaurant now is Under new owner, also has changed the name of the restaurant , the person took my ordered had promised me that theirs food is tasted much better than the one on Bolsa located close to Asian Square Mall , we were disappointed when we got the foods, its was not as good as she promised ( over rated herself) wished she would tells us this place has changed new owner, I would have gives this place a chance ! I didn't realized it was under new owner when I saw the receipt reads King Com Tam , my son was the one pick up the orders , I will think twice if I want to order again .
The pho bo vien was flavorful and delicious. The bun bo hue dac biet had a great combination of lemongrass, chili, and beef flavor to the broth.
