A different take on Japanese ramen, I think, since it may not be ramen at all. They have ramen on the menu, but the main attractions seem to the the spicy versions with or without soup.Based on recommendations from my kids, who recommended this place, I tried the Downtown version that is more vinegar based than Tokyo that has more peanut butter creaminess to it. You also get to choose spicy and numbness levels.I went with 4/4 on the spice and numb levels, and could have taken up to a 5/5 or 6/4 as the numbness has never been my thing.I enjoyed my meal and happy i tried it, but not blown away and ready to line up for more. Maybe I need to fine tune my spice and numbness levels some more and/or try some of the other dishes. We also tried the fried chicken, which maybe the secret menu item. Problem was, they didn’t have two of the sauces I really wanted to try (Korean and spicy). I did ask and got some chili oil which helped kick up the basic sauce they have and describe as like “Chick fi La” sauce.Service was friendly, so have to give some credit for that, otherwise might be a 3 star review.Anyway, happy I tried it and will update my review of opinion changes.
Such a delicious meal. We ordered the chicken side as an appetizer and the meat is juicy and crispy! We all ordered different dishes and loved it! It definitely is really spicy, would not go over a 3 in spiciness unless you think you can really handle it!We also ordered a vegetarian dish and it was yummy! Thanks so much!
I had Tokyo style without soup today.I really love it. I had 3 spiciness and 2 numbness. I eat spicy food, and I feel like I could handle higher spicy level. But my friend who doesn’t eat spicy would pick 2 or 1 spiciness.Without soup one would come with a bowl of rice. After finishing the noodles, we gotta add rice in creamy sauce :)Tasty~Fried chick was very good too!
A bit pricy, the taste is unique, in a good way. Not enough food... even the large size... Man... It's hard to get full these days...
I tried out the Tokyo ramen with soup and at 2 spiceness level. It was just the right level for me, since I'm not a huge fan of spicy dishes. The sweet ground meat was an interesting addition, but tasted pretty delicious. Noodles were of good thickness and the broth was hearty. Overall, good food and good service.
First time visiting. Try the Tokyo style one with the standard level. I really like it. On the cold rainy day with spicy ramen, so good…. :)
I have Tokyo Bowl noodles with bean sprouts, peanut, ground pork marinated and other ingredients and spices. I ordered with S3 & N2 (Spiced level 3 & Numbness level 2) for $14 + default 15% to 20% tips options. The noodles tasted (I preferred a little softer) okay but I liked the cleanliness in the restroom. The atmosphere was friendly. The drinking water tastes sweet; they might have a good filter. Update: They used a lot MSG. You will be very thirty after the rest of the day, believed you try it!
Tokyo style, level 3 spicy, level 3 numbness. Chicken and pork broth. Super good!
Friendly staff, they attend to you often. The noodle very tasty.
This place was amazing. I had the Tokyo bowl, which actually turned out pretty good, the great thing was you get to add your level of hotness and numbness. The only thing that I wish they would change is the soup could have been warmer since the sides came separate and were cold.
