Our family loves sushi. We had the pleasure of eating at Hayatobi for the first time this past Friday and it was the best sushi we’ve ever had. Prices were comparable to other sushi places we’ve tried but the quality was outstanding. Service, friendliness and selection were all excellent too. This is our new favorite place to eat.Attached pic was round one for us. The Crunchy Roll, El Monte and Spicy Tuna Hand Roll were especially delicious. No pics of that, we were too busy devouring the deliciousness of it all ?

Stopped by after work for the happy hour prices are reasonable 6$ rolls 5$ drinks great spot to stop by and snack. The sushi is decent not the best but good I do recommend this spot if you are doing the happy hour menu.

Good food, nice enough interior. We dined in and took advantage of the $5 specials. The tempura is well made and we appreciated how hot and fresh the food was when it arrived at our table. The main issue was the inexperienced staff. There were plenty of servers and our table was filling up with used plates. No one would take them away until we asked the bus boy to do so.A number of our orders were not fulfilled so we reordered them and it took forever so we eventually canceled.Would I go here again? Not in the near future. They need to train their staff better or at least have a manager walking around making sure everything is running smoothly.

Had 7 types of Nigri - 5 of which were of decent quality (kanpachi, hamachi, salmon, maguro, and black snapper), 2 we're meh (Saba, bonito). Shisito peppers and grilled yellowtail collar were excellent. Mixed tempera and karage were just OK. Prices were super reasonable with limited sushi/sashimi selection.

What a find in the SGV. Friendly staff, chill atmosphere, and GREAT FOOD. The cuts of fish were very generous and the curry rice were had was perfectly spiced and smooth. Will be trying to come here as often as I can…from the South Bay.

Best sushi restaurant in San Gabriel. Must try.

As good as it gets! The deluxe chirashi and deluxe sushi sets are the standout hits of this restaurant. But all the sushi are legit and delicious - even the vegetarian ones. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the dishes. Even the curry and tempura are well worth the visit. Sushi rivals many fancier and pricier places. But! Come in with a good attitude, because like many others, they are clearly short staffed. Have a drink, relax and wait. You won't be disappointed. ごちそうさまでした!

I've seen this spot opening by my house so we decided to go on a weekend night , overall the sushi is fresh ,what i like is that the menu isn't overwhelming with a variety of items but they have the basics but still serve Toro and sweet ship ( the sashimi version is pretty good)This spot is great ???

Expectedly excellent! Now open for dine in, this is a must do. Everything we had was fresh, with excellent balances of flavor. The grilled eggplant in miso was especially lovely. Brought back memories of being in Japan.

Food 4 stars & Services 2 stars - legitimate Japanese sushi. Thick cuts. $5 dine in specials pretty good deals.Karage chicken $5 were soft and crispy on the outside. But it had the wrong sauce (it should come with mayo or spicy mayo) but it had ponzu sauce that you would get with soft shell crab. We had to ask for the correct sauce.Beef don $16 comes with miso soup but we had to ask numerous times to get it :( beef slices were over cooked and onions should have been softer. Miso soup is pretty good!!Mussels $5 - standard but I think it’s overly seasoned with soy sauceService wise: an order was delivered wrong to our table and my husband had to walk to server to get his attention.I would like to see the servers communicate with each other more and seat customers on a timely manner.
