Oddly cute little Hong Kong cafe that specializes in many things. We ultimately came here for the sweet tofu AKA "taho" for Filipinos and was ecstatic beyond words as it was exactly what I hoped it would be in taste, texture, and temperature. They also serve this in pandan flavor but I prefer the original. Also popular for their Hong Kong style mochi waffles, theirs can be ordered in many different flavors, again the pandan being one of their bestsellers while the sesame one was what I really liked. Their popcorn chicken was popular to the youngins in our party and it was slightly different from the Taiwanese version you get at boba shops. It was good though. I'll have to try their coffee and tea drinks another time if I come earlier in the day. I overheard someone order mango sticky rice so that, too will have to be something to order for next time. The grandpa that runs this place was quite the character that made our experience really pleasant. He was a salesman and came by our table a few times to try to persuade us to try other things including renting out his waffle maker. A for effort. When we left, we saw a flyer of gyudon bowl at one of the tables and we were like "Wait, what? How come we didn't see that on the menu? We would've ordered it." Be warned, there's no proper menu and there are signs posted all over the restaurant of various things that they have.
Rating 5 stars because I spent about 2 hours here while waiting for my car to be serviced down the street. The owner was so kind he says good morning to each customer walking in, gave me time to look at the menu and made sure he was ready the moment I was ready to order. Made very small town vibe conversation with all the customers! I was definitely sweating or looking like I was about to walking in, but he recommended i sit at a specific table because its cooler so I would cool down - so thoughtful!The place itself is quirky in that the atmosphere is so cafe and Chinese corner store at the same time. Ample seating inside and out and he was so nice to turn on the fan by my table.The food came quickly and it's good! Very homey as some other reviews have said. They have so many fun options of drinks and food to get, but I was tired so I got a coffee milkshake and a turkey bagel sandwich.Support local businesses! This one is a gem ?
I’ve been to many coffee shops and this one is especially welcoming & homey. They have Unique flavors that’s hard to find, I got the pandan coffee (a type of green plant ) for the first time and it’s really good with a hint of coconut flavor. MUST TRY !
This is a nice find for a quick stop and sip rest. The coffee was good, the guy who served me, not sure if he was the owner but very pleasing and accommodating to make you feel comfortable to stay. No rush or attitude - refreshing for LA :) - I got a off menu coffee made for me that I wanted - tasted great and I would highly recommend the Hong Kong style Egg Waffles - I had the chocolate ones snd they were so good! Hot and tasty …. Chilled atmosphere, great coffee and pleasant service, a funky find that you can’t go wrong. ( Tip: there’s parking at the back of front off Broadway and you can go through the outside seating area to the back of the store)

My boyfriend and I live in LA but we always make a point to come here if we’re in the area. The owner, Jimmy, is very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend the iced pandan coffee and custard bubble waffle. It’s not Starbucks, so you won’t get your coffee instantaneously, but good coffee takes time. If you’re really in a hurry though, you can call and order ahead.
Alright. All you coffee purists. A Cult coffee classic. Prepare to do a deep dive into an amazing coffee adventure. Leave your pour over at home. In todays world of coffee that tastes somewhat alike, even under the skill of a talented barista, few have the character or skill to make coffee that blows open your taste buds. How many coffee roasters have been working their art for over 20 years. Who even knows hot to use a vacuum brewer to pull out the magic of a roast. Few owners show up to work every day to put their heart into an amazing coffee. It’s not an ordinary experience. Take a risk. And for your sanity order a croissant. And if you dare order a Hanoi insanity coffee. Truly one of the best coffee shops in Los Angeles.
Great place. Nice and cozy family operated coffeeshop. Family friendly, has an old times feeling. Great sandwiches , coffees, and breakfast. I'm happy they're up and running during this pandemic. Kudos to you!!! Jus remember it's pretty much on the cor er of Broadway and San Gabriel so early morning traffic is bad, it would be better to park in the back than on the street.
Jimmy, the owner, is an expert coffee man! He was so helpful to us and made great suggestions and drinks. His shop is a great place to kickback and enjoy your b’fast.We really enjoyed the croissant b’fast sandwich, pandan coffee, viet coffee, the rainbow Hong Kong waffle, and taho (soft tofu) . Everything was made well and tasty!
We visited on Thanksgiving afternoon. After a trip to Resurrection Cemetery in Montery Park I was showing my husband around the area. We wound up in San Gabriel searching for coffee and stumbled on this gem of a business. Such a warm feeling and we felt so inclined to sit inside for a while before continuing on with our afternoon. Thank you for being open we will be back for sure!
