My birthday. As always, impeccable service.
In many ways Zuni continues to amaze. Price however is making the restaurant less attractive. Minor issues for us this time was a gin tonic with too much ice and not enough tonic water. The glass was too small. Desserts were disappointing.
Fantastic as usual!
Restaurants & food trends come & go, but Zuni Cafe continues to excel & remains an obligatory stop for any visit to San Francisco. The energy (bustling yet cozy & inviting), the menu (roasted chicken that lives up to its rep & then some; stuffed squash blossoms; oysters; espresso granita, etc), the service (warm, disarming & always professional) all combine to make Zuni one of SF's most timeless & compelling dining experiences...can't wait to return!
Havenât been in a while, but didnât feel like it was the Zuni I remember. Another casualty of Covid.
Chicken fabulous as always!
Zuni never disappoints, from the superb martini to all of the beautiful and delicious small plates and scrumptious dessert. Attentive and friendly service. Perfect quiet corner table for one where I could take my time with everything.
My husband and I have been eating at the Zuni Cafe since it opened in the late 70s. He proposed to me there in 1995. The food and the service have never wavered in their quality. It always feels like a special occasion to eat there, even when it's not our anniversary (we go to the Zuni every year to celebrate--last night it was 26 years). Everything is simple and perfect, and it's the simplicity that impresses me the most. Just a few ingredients in each dish that blend together delightfully. Friendly servers who know their stuff make the experience complete.
Zuni Cafe remains one of the best restaurants in a city known for great restaurants. Delicious food, beautifully prepared, and served (with aplomb) in a lovely setting, it's no surprise that Zuni Cafe has staying power. There is always a good variety on the menu and you can always count on their signature dishes: the Caesar Salad, the Chicken, and (for dessert) the Gateau Victoire or the espresso granita. The continuity in staff also contributes to the restaurant's ambience and dining culture. I live in San Francisco, and love trying the city's new restaurants. And I always return to Zuni Cafe.
Had the best dinner celebrating our anniversary. Get the roasted chicken and order it ahead of time. We will definitely be back!
