The food is good, but should be priced about 1/3 less across the board. They also used to have lunch menu options, however that seems to be gone and could explain why no one came in to eat during what should've been a busy lunch rush hour (12p - 1p).I ordered their dinner portion plate of Ma La Chicken ($23) and red chili oil dumplings ($9).The Ma La Chicken was solid, however having one of the greatest Szechuan places in the country back home in Atlanta has spoiled me with their dry fry spicy chicken which put's YH's offering to shame. That said, the chicken was juicy and the breading was much closer to American fried chicken than the light breading you see for this dish at other Szechuan spots. The main gripe I have is the price which is far too much for a bowl of fried chicken breast chunks. The dumplings were good, you could tell they were freshly made in-house and the oil concoction they were bathing in added a great depth of flavor.YH - if you see this, perhaps consider providing more entrée/lunch box options to make it easier to spend money with you during the work week.
Orange chicken to die for!But I was honestly confused by the menu. We read a review that a lot of the stuff they make is not listed. Looked at Uber eats, found a lot more food.We ordered orange chicken, a bowl of steamed rice, pork BBQ buns, chow mein and pork dumplings. We split between 3 people and paid $70 with tip.
Husband wants to have a Chinese New Year dinner. We choose this one. It's a fusion Chinese restaurant. Excellent service and fresh ingredients. Our favorite is the avocado spring roll.
If you are an American, you’ll enjoy this place pretty much. The price is decent as well. But if you are expecting authentic Chinese food — nothing close to it. Our group ordered more than 10 dishes, maybe 2-3 of them were okay-ish.
Went with my friends and one of them absolutely hates this place bc it’s not ‘authentic’. While that’s true, I actually like the food and environment a lot. If you are going for authentic Chinese food this place is probably not for you but that aside, nothing wrong with this place and I will probably be going back for moreOne star off for the big party group size table. They should really use a Chinese style round table instead of the western style rectangular dining table. Sharing food on that thing with 9 people was such an hassle. I had to walk from one end to the other just to get the food I want. And it’s near impossible to talk to your friends on the other side of the table
The roast duck needs to be ordered a dan in advance. It comes with pancake wrappers (which I prefer to the bap bread) scallions, cucumbers, hosin, plum sauce and sugar. The container is great as there is warm water under the wrappers to keep them warm and soft to separate. Likewise the duck is precut so no bones to contend with, and kept warm and crackling with a tealight. The soup that comes with the set is amazing, it was actually a highlight for me. The lettuce wraps are also nice and refreshingly light and tasty. Also the house special dry mala mushrooms and walnut shrimp were all delicious would definitely recommend this hidden gem!
Our favourite restaurant in San Francisco. When we were living abroad we often drooled at the thought of getting back to eat here. So underrated! The food is consistently amazing. We always order green onion pancakes, pork dumplings, sesame chicken & orange chicken.Cocktails and beer are also SO good. ?Shout out to Tiffany for having amazing customer service - such a kind person!?
SERIOUSLY good food!! the mala chicken was to die for and the green beans were phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back
This used to be great. Now it's extremely over priced, the portions are Tiny. I had Mongolian beef entree which had very little beef and was mostly red, white, and green onions. I was still hungry. The large plates switched to salad size plates, no more lunch special, slow service in an empty restraunt. Not sure if they will survive. The remodel is pretty.....
This place is gorgeous! Service was excellent & food fantastic. I read a review about it being overpriced, but I thought it was appropriate for a higher-end restaurant. I would come again!!
