Recently visited Woodhouse Fish Co on Market Street in the Castro. Overall, it was a good experience. There is indoor seating but it’s tight. The decor is the rustic fisherman. I ordered the clam chowder which was good. I also ordered the fish and chips and my wife ordered the crab cakes. Overall, it’s a good place and definitely worth visiting
The best seafood restaurant we found in San Francisco! We visited the original location, small, hole in the wall that you would never expect could produce such great food but we were highly surprised. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection and we're accompanied by the best homemade tarter sauce I have ever dipped a piece of cod into! The squid ink pasta had an amazing smoky flavor and the lobster roll was just perfect! The restaurant is small, only a few tables, but the food is worth the wait if there is one. Our server was attentive, and genuinely made you feel like he was glad you were there. I highly recommend you add this place to your list of places to eat in San Francisco!
Great selection of seafood! I love the way they deep-fry seafood! Lightly- battered, deep fried calamari is second to none! The beauty of fried calamari is crispiness on the outside, juiciness and bounciness on the inside giving you great flavor, texture! Perfectly flaky and insanely fresh cod make Fish and chips stand out!Cioppino is highlight! You can get many different dimensions of taste from assorted seafoods! It has so refreshing taste, perfect tartness to it.But portion size is so small for the price.
Fish taco was really good. Calamari and lobster roll tasted good but I’ve tried better. Service was quick, food was ready within the given time (15-20 min). Good portion sizes.
Hit Lobster roll with seasoned butter. My gosh. It was an experience alone. Highly recommended.
Decided to come here on the Tuesday, which happens to be $1.25 oyster day! So happy, only place to get oysters for a decent deal. We also had onion rings which were perfectly crispy and not overly greasy, excited to come back and try more.
How refreshing to find a restaurant in San Francisco that didn't take itself too seriously, had little to no pretense, and actually wants the diner to have both a good meal and a good time. The staff was great, even though the restaurant was very crowded. The food was very good. I love calamari, so I started with that. It had a crispy breading yet it was not dry. For my entree, I had the Fish & Chips. I always ask for my fries to be extra crispy. The fish was delicate; the batter was light; the frying was not overly oily, which fried fish can often be. Best of all, the fries were fried to perfection. My dinner companion had the Lobster Roll, and it was overflowing with chunks of lobster.
Oily and frozen crab cakes and bad fish and chips. Chips dripping in oil. Tasteless fish. The cook obviously does not care. $26 for the cakes!
This is a nice small restaurant in Market Street. No frills but kind service and very fresh seafood. I had a great cioppino, big portion and very tasty. Prices are not cheap but reasonable.
Amazing food! Very good ambience and friendly employees. The food was really delicious! Especially the lobster roll and fish tacos. Well done for the crew!
