Amazing Japanese curry. This is one of my go to spots for a affordable meal, portions are great and the food is delicious. My go to is the chicken katsu curry, medium spice. The spice isn't too intense, even the spiciest isn't that spicy tbh. The potato croquettes are delicious as well.

One of my favorite Japanese curry restaurants in San Francisco. The other being Muraccis!I always use spiciness as a way to measure the quality of the curry. If I order Volcano, the spiciest level, I expect the curry to not only be spicy - but that you can still taste the depth of the flavor. Will always keep coming back here. And whenever I'm splurging, I go for the extra potato croquette!

TLDR: Ordered Chicken Katsu mild curry where the curry portion was substituted for vegetarian since I'm allergic to peanuts. Either the meals were mixed up or there was cross contamination since I had a reaction.---I ordered the chicken Katsu mild curry with a karaage mini sandwich. After a few seconds after the transaction I realized the curry contained peanut butter and they swapped the regular curry base for vegetarian where I paid the difference. The staff was great and very accommodating throughout my mistake.Mini sandwich was great, along with the chicken Katsu. The curry was a lot spicier than my usual S&B extra hot golden curry at home and a lot saltier/spicier. Near the end of the meal I started developing early stages of an allergic reaction and took my medication to resolve the issue. Either my meal was cross contaminated or there was a mix up.If you have a peanut allergy I would strongly recommend staying away from any of the curry options and stick with the alternatives to prevent cross contamination or order mix up.

Solid curry, crunchy katsu, but nothing mind blowing. The chicken katsu was definitely superior to the pork katsu, which was a little dry and flavorless. The rice itself was also a bit hard. Got an add on croquette which was nice and crispy. The volcano level spice was definitely very hot, I think the spice flavor was a little overbearing and I wished I got the level down one to enjoy the curry flavor more.

We like their original curry and you customize your order, like extra carrots. Japanese curry is not as spicy as East Indian, so my kids liked it more.

v delicious curry. super super crisp and delicious. I don't have a picture bc I ate it too fast. counter service ???However. They played Christmas music before Thanksgiving which is an unforgivable sin. So actual review is a 4.8 star but I can't do that so 5 stars bc the curry is delish.

My son studies Japanese and when we go to Moscow Tblisi bakery on Geary Street we see this place a block away. We stayed in SF for his 17th birthday. While getting piroshkis at the bakery for lunch we saw 2 younger Japanese businessmen in suits going in for lunch. It is a small place but very busy with tons of take out and delivery orders lined up. I got ours to go and it was incredible. Good old fashioned home cooked comfort food that was generous in portion and not expensive. We will certainly return. The pork tonkatsu was the best I have ever had. A must try.

Chicken katsu curry. I am still thinking about the plate I had this morning when I am writing this review. It was so good. Everything is perfect. The food was hot, chicken was crispy, the sauce really tasty. And I ordered hot level and it was spicy ? enough for me.Highly recommended!

Perhaps it was the cold rainy day or walking miles without food (started at The Palace of Fine Arts) but the food here was so energizing and delicious.I ordered the Karaage curry while my girlfriend ordered the Katsu curry. Though they almost look identical with the exception of the meat, they were both fantastic.

First curry dish in san fran! We were looking for a late afternoon lunch after a long walk and turns out not a lot of places were opened at the time; then Volcano Curry came on our radar. I ordered the chicken katsu curry with potato croquette and extra Fukuzinzuke pickles along with a side of miso soup which I definitely recommend.
