Head to Viva Goa if you're looking to try flavors and dishes from Goa, a small coastal state in Western India. Goan food is spicy, often a bit tart but nonetheless unique and very tasty. Viva Goa does a great job in highlighting some classic Goan dishes like Xacuti and Vindaloo. The Whole Pomfret fry was great; and definitely ask for Pork Sorpotel; it's off-menu but they will happily make it. The food is fairly priced and the staff friendly.
One of the good Indian restaurants in SF.It has some of the popular goan dishes available here.
I will highly recommend Viva Goa restaurant in San Francisco, they have very friendly staff very delicious food, I will suggest to try mussels which I liked the most. Thank you Viva Goa Indian restaurant.
Run don’t walk to Viva Goa! I’ve passed by this place for years and finally went in a few weeks ago. Ordered takeout and can definitely say it is the best tikka masala I’ve had in San Francisco. Quick friendly service and incredible food. What’s not to love!
I went here 2/9.As a British person, I'm used to BIR flavors and how curry should be.This place did not disappoint. The poppadoms were crisp and not oily. The naan was fluffy and not dry. I had the Vindaloo and 9/10 spice and it tasted incredible. The heat was there, but not overwhelming. I finished the bowl in under 10 minutes. It was incredible. One of the best curries I've had. Also, the server was so lovely and told me how the chefs make their own base gravy and don't buy it. There is a love of Indian food here you just don't get elsewhere.100% would come here again. And I am looking forward to coming back.
Absolutely scrumptious Indian food. A big fan of the paneer tikka masala. Service was extremely quick, attentive and kind. Will definitely be back.
Loved the spice. If you love spicy Indian dishes, I would recommend trying the Goan Chicken. I'm glad that they checked our vaccination certificate before allowing us to enter.
I got fifty samosas from them for a potluck dinner yesterday and they were GREAT!!!!! The taste, freshness, quality of ingredients, and not to mention the sauces that were on point. Everyone at the dinner praised how good they were! Thank you all at Viva Goa!!!
One of the best Indian restaurants I've visited in the US! I've lived in Goa for 4 years time and can definitely vouch for the authenticity of flavors. I got the Recardo Pomfret and Prawn Vindaloo with rice both were delicious. I had asked for very spicy and the food rose to it beautifully, not being just hot but also very flavorful. The servers were very attentive and polite. We had a wonderful time here!
Delicious food. The curries are flavorful and dynamic. Tons of flavors of naan. The beer is a good value. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive. This whole top notch experience comes at a great price. The value here is unbeatable!
