Food at the Venus on Clement is okay; there is a wide variety on the menu and it is tasty enough though nothing special. But at lunchtime the place seems to be too busy for its staffing, both front and back of house. Service was slow and dishes came out haphazardly (our appetizer came out last!). Calling it "fast food" is a stretch. No refills on tea or water, and French fries were added to one of our entrees which we did not order, for which we were charged $2.
Portions were good and the food was more Hong Kong style.The prices were a little steep as the minimum wage in SF is set to go up again come July.The waiter was attentive but the waitresses tended to be engage in idle chit chat among themselves.Couldn't believe I paid over $13+ dollars for a plate of tomato beef chow mein.It was good but I had a sodium/msg attack not long after I had the meal.There are other options/items on the menu I want to try.I'll update my comments after I go there a few more times.The first impression is not always the best.

Ordered the Big Brother and a cup of coffee for breakfast there today and it was everything I hoped for. This is the greasy spoon you've overlooked.
Seems like the discriminate people based on something because they gave me a smaller togo cup of the same drink that I ordered than the other 8 people who ordered a drink. They gave them a dine in glass cup that was really nice especially the women dining in this places. Not coming here again and the food is small as others have said plus the service is slow and the food wasn't really that good.
Great good, fast service, good prices. The milk tea is a fun treat, too!
Discriminating. Every time I come here and order a drink, they discriminated me with a togo cup. Maybe because I have long hair and a beard but they assume I have covid or something even though I don't. I just been indoors for a long time and I also showed them my vaccination paper too when I dined it and the food wasn't even that good for hong kong style food.
