Good Italian food. Nice location. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Their pizzas are pretty good.
Even though we visited during peak dinner time with the restaurant visibly understaffed and the staff working double duty, we felt well taken care of. The food was all delicious, and our drink pairings complimented everything well. We had a few different members of the staff visit our table and all were incredibly kind and helped our dinner move along well. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area and want a great atmosphere paired with delicious food.
Nice spot on the corner. Great atmosphere. The meatballs and polenta were delicious but the doughnuts were definitely lacking something. I took them to go thinking they would taste different after cooling off but they tasted the same as in restaurant. I threw them away. They left a weird after taste in my mouth. I would return to this restaurant I just won't get doughnuts again. Our server was awesome.
After a long travel day, we were starving and wanted something close to our hotel. We didn’t research, just picked the closest place. We started our meal with the focaccia and the meatballs. Both were absolutely fantastic. For our main course we ordered the pappardelle pasta and the pizza with prosciutto, roasted grapes, arugula, balsamic, and goat cheese. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you this was the best pasta and pizza I have ever had - and I consider myself well pretty well traveled. The service was great, the drinks were strong. I don’t know how this place doesn’t have 5 stars.
Quick service and delicious food - we tried polenta fries and a pizza before heading to Harry Potter. One of the most amazing negronis I have ever had - barrel aged and clarified with milk!!!! Great atmosphere and professional service.
We’ve eaten here several times, always a pleasure. Tonight we thought we’d try something new and ordered take out from Hyde Street Seafood, only to have a completely inedible meal delivered! Tratto to the rescue with their in-house fresh made pasta and sauce. And they were so nice! We called 10 minutes before close and they graciously fed us!
This place is so good. We’ve been here twice and it was excellent both times. Classic Italian twists, fresh made pasta, delicious sauces, wonderful pizzas. And a beautiful atmosphere, full bar, with excellent cocktails and wine. Absolutely would recommend!
Lovely Italian place. Friendly staff. Alberto , our server ,was attentive but not in a hovering way. Food was delicious! Walkable from BART, great location close to Union Square and theaters.
can't help but start this restaurant write up with dessert first! Eat with your eyes! The panna cotta at Tratto—with candied lemon rind, lemon curd, and sprinkled vanilla bean—was my absolutely favorite part of the meal, followed closely by the accompanying house-made pomplecello apertif. I also greatly enjoyed my lemon fettuccine cacciatore, which ended up being one dish versus a separate chicken cacciatore and pasta. I really like how that turned out all together! Husband had the mushroom pizza, which he enjoyed, though he was less enthused about the bitter cherry whiskey soda. I found the meatballs to be on the dry side, though I liked the white polenta that accompanied them.
Good ambience and food, very poor service. Went on new year's eve, place was not crowded. However, there was only one service staff for the whole restaurant who also seemed to favor folks that were well verse with Spanish language. Had to wait long for order to be taken, remind multiple times for even water to be refilled. The final bill was erroneous and when pointed out, no apology for the error. Overall, a very poor experience.
