The sashimi is good. The rolls were ok. Being from NJ and having that sort of expectation comparing a 5 star sushi restaurant there to this resulted in the loss of a star. Otherwise good place to eat.
Toyama is the only Sushi House I now will ever goto. The best Uni in San Francisco hands down, bet your last dollar, smack my mama and call me sherlly! I had an auditable and tingling experience like a great "O" when eating the Uni. Watching the Chef do what he does best is amazing. I am going order everything once on the menu. But so far no disappointment only fabulosity! A total must eat for locals and guest a like.
I’m giving this place 5 stars bc the staff was very nice and the portions are huge! The Ramen bowls are bigger than your head!!! This is not a fancy establishment, it’s definitely casual, but I would say you will get your moneys worth. Sushi was good quality too.
Food was good and well priced. Got the Chicken Teriyaki and Tempura, there was a lot of chicken so portions were good for me. Our server was very welcoming. Place had a big tv playing the Warriors game which was a plus for sure.
Ordered takeout from here and the food was not good at all. Rolls drenched in mayonnaise to the point you can't taste the fish; hot rolls in the same container with cold ones, which left the whole thing soggy and moist; very runny wasabi. Will not be returning.
If you like fresh fish and don’t want to pay a fortune this is your place . I’ve been eating sushi all over the country for 35 years and this place ranks among the best sashimi and omakase are exceptional. Generous portions of fish and great quality . Rolls are excellent also but mostly stick to sashimi. Nice traditional authentic feel for sushi . Give it a try you won’t be disappointed
The food is outstanding at Toyama for the price, I've introduced many friends to the place and they love it too.

So happy I randomly stumbled into this spot. Sushi was absolutely delicious and the grilled squid was cooked to perfection.Definitely coming back the next time I’m in SF
POOR SERVICE. Ordered 2 SAME dinners for dine-in. First bento box came ... Girlfriend was essentially finished when the 2nd dinner came out 15 minutes later. "Pack mine up for take out". I'm not staying.Two sushi chefs, 2 waitress, kitchen staff?WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS IN THE RESTAURANT!!!Ruined our evening. Nothing like watching someone eat.
