Had dinner here with some family from out of town. It’s actually in a cool spot in downtown SF. It’s situated in an alley with several other restaurants. The food, drinks and service were great. The noise level was a bit much and it’s the only reason I’m giving it less than 5 stars. I would honestly give it 4.5 if I could. Definitely worth checking out.
Was disappointed with the space upstairs. Seemed dirty and not organized. Metal folding chairs? Low ceilings. Dark. Menu was very small but some good choices. They were out of a wine I wanted called Flowers. Probably won’t go back cause there are plenty of other restaurants to choose from. It was a work dinner and I felt a bit embarrassed to be honest. Wished it was a bit fancier for my guests. Oh well.
Food was great, but unfortunately there was just too long of a lull in service, and some hygiene issues.
Got a bunch of friends together for dinner. Everything was solid. They were super accommodating and didn’t rush us at all which was great since we wanted to spend time together without feeling like we had to leave soon. No complaints and I’m grateful they were open to host. Will be back!
I took a group of my colleagues here for a work dinner. I asked if they might have somewhere a bit out of the way/quieter, and they seated us upstairs. The staff really looked after us and we all had a great evening. Thank you!

Host was friendly and seated us where we preferred. Food came out right away and tasted as expected (good) and had a nice selection of beer and cocktails. A perfect and easy work lunch spot.
really good night and although the service was great, the place was so busy it would have been great to have a little more staff on to help the awesome team!
We had reserved a table for a business meal. Everything was really delayed in terms of service since it appears Toy Soldier only had one waiter attending to the entire floor. It was unfortunate as the food was good but the poor service made all the difference in our dining experience.
We made a reservation which was confirmed and then showed up and the restaurant was closed. We had to find another restaurant at the last minute. Horrible experience.
