Great wine list and beverage offering. Nice staff. Very tasty and eclectic food.
The food was amazing. The barbecue duck was heavenly, as was the lamb tartare. We also really enjoyed the burrata and fried beans appetizer, halibut crudo, and the mushroom pesto. The potato clouds (fluffy potatoes with caviar) were so cute and definitely a must try! Cocktails were also exceptional. The Cobb wine that was featured that night was also divine. Every person involved in our service was very kind, some were more interactive and chatty than others, which was pleasant and welcomed. We spent about $360 and left feeling full, which we were happy about! We came for a special occasion, and while we were greeted with warm birthday wishes, we were surprised to not receive any happy birthday small token - whether that be a drink or dessert or even a cookie ð Most restaurants - upscale or not - do something to make you feel special, and The Progress fell flat on that for us.
Their food is inventive and amazing
Amazing food; service was outstanding and every dish we got was delicious! Highly recommended
Our first time here, were looking forward to it. We were greeted warmly and they even asked about the graduations we were celebrating (though, disappointingly, they did not bring out any cake to celebrate at the end!). We were seated promptly in the main hall which has a modern, spacious feel to it, with a nice looking bar at one end and very high ceiling. Our friendly server came over, explained the menus and that we should order 2-3 dishes per person, with selections from each part of the menu. Turns out 8 dishes were more than enough for us: - Starters: bread, masa dumplings, dipping lettuces -- all excellent! - Vegetables: o coal roasted pole beans and galangal tofu - nice crunchiness & Asian flavors o burrata & butter beans - good not great, blackberries were a nice touch o morel & ricotta cavatelli - nice pesto flavor but mushrooms were bit too crunchy - Mains: o turmeric halibut - wonderfully done, especially the apricots o guinea hen - a large schnitzel with lots of thick bacon, we were too full by then to enjoy this, wish we'd ordered something smaller instead For drinks, we got the milk punch, beet cocktail, the remedy and alter ego - all tasted excellent but presentation was surprisingly simple, with no garnishes at all! For dessert, we got the floating island, which was good, not great. Wish there were more options here. Our server flagged off as the dinner proceeded, and we had quite a while for our final mains to be cleared / bagged, before she got us the dessert and check. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and will likely return. The shared family-style is fine but the plate sizes are too variable which makes it difficult to right-size the order. The halibut was a good size, but the hen was too large (and so are other higher-priced items like the duck, trout and pork). Service was variable, so there is room for improvement.
Truly excellent! The drinks, food, and service were superb. This was a celebration dinner for my husband's birthday, and they did a nice job making him feel special without being too cheesy. It was a lovely and memorable evening. Can't wait to come back. Thank you!
Always a remarkable menu. My go to place for friends and visitors
