Let me first start by saying I didn't go here for beer or drinks like probably 90% of the people go who here. We wanted some Irish pub food. I got the shepherds pie and my wife for the Irish stew. Both were under seasoned and a bit below expectations. I wouldn't recommend either. However, the brussel sprouts appetizer was absolutely awesome. It seemed like a grab a drink and a couple apps type place and that would be great. Service was good. The lady was so so nice but definitely struggling under the pressure. Had multiples of the food brought out and confusingly taken away. The place has a charming look/atmosphere though.
Excellent staff. Friendly and efficient. Food is great value for money with a pretty wide choice. Probably the most value for money evening meal in San Francisco. Well worth a visit
My normal go to Irish Pub was closed so I went to this convenient to our hotel pub. They place is small but not crowded at 530 on a weeknight. Great selection of whisky and absolutely delicious Sheppards pie. Would be a great place to stop before or after a Giants game.
My brother and friend randomly stumbled into this bar on a Friday night after the giants game. The bar was not crowded but it was busy. The bartender immediately tended to us and was very friendly. We didn't order food, just drinks. We weren't there for more than 15 minutes but it was a pleasant experience. Definitely seems like a cool place to hangout and enjoy some good pub food and a drink. I'll have to come back.
Haven't eaten yet. Wanted a Shepard's pie and this place is well reviewed.Showed up with one party in front of me, they were seated. I was seen and said I just wanted a Shepard's pie to go. The server then didn't speak to me again until the food came by. I wasn't even offered a seat at the bar. I just stood awkwardly in the narrow entrance for like 15 minutes. There seemed to be only one guy serving. There were 6 parties seated I could see. Maybe I'd be a bit more chill about it if I wasn't hungry and hadn't spent 5 hours on public transit but it was pretty wack. Also a Shepard's pie is like 20.83 after tax.
Food average we had fish but it was very watery there is a new singer there but no as good as the previous one his choice of material was poor and not enjoyable we always pays 3 to 4 visits when on holiday but think next time give it a miss
Just had a wonderful evening in the Chieftain. Went few a few drinks, there was a group of friends playing Irish tunes, then decided to stay for food. All in the best evening of our holiday, from the service to the food. If you have the time, trust me and visit. Thanks guys
We've been in this pub before, but decided to eat dinner there as it was next to our hotel and we were tired after a very busy day playing tourists. Typical Irish pub menu ... if you like that sort of thing you'll find something you love. Hubs was very happy with the beers on tap. I had a decent glass of wine. They make their own curry sauce and it was the best ever! I went for spicy wings, typical pub fare, but they were great ... the ranch was really good and came with a good helping of carrots/celery. DH's burger was fabulous; he loved it. Prices for convention area of the city were extremely good! We're in the city often (live South Bay) so would definitely come in again even if not staying next door. Oh yes, great service too. The Bartender was super friendly and helpful.
Very very friendly. Awesome service.
Great pub food, if not super cheap. Definitely getting your money’s worth, though, and the staff is top notch.
