Old school like nothing else. Tadich is unique. San Francisco has some great restaurants, but Tadich is #1. This is not a touristy place, rather you may see some famous San Franciscans here. But the booths are very private, so maybe you won't. Large portions of wonderful food is unheard of elsewhere, and served by attentive waiters that are right out of the same early 1900's as the muted art deco surroundings.

Open for 173 years for a reason! This restaurant came highly rated by my Croatian friends and it was a great recommendation. The restaurant feels "old school" which is awesome and a totally different atmosphere than other restaurants in the area. The food is terrific, we tried the crab cakes and the salmon based on the servers suggestions. The service is top-notch and to top things off there is still a Croatian that worked there and he stopped by our table to speak the old language a bit. I am a first generation Croatian-American and a Cali Boy so coming to the first restaurant in California opened by 3 Croatian immigrants was a perfect match. Thank you for the fantastic evening. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to drop by again.

Fresh crab, huge shrimps and delicious ciopinno! Service was also delightful and atmosphere was great with a private booth in the tavern. Highly recommend!

i took a friend who had never been. My first visit in a decade. Atmosphere still great. Service still classic and old fashioned and still sexist be with all-male professional waitstaff today as in the past. The food is the same. Classic, old-fashioned, a little bland. But my pork chops were perfect, the steamed vegetables fresh and al dente but plain. Ordinarily I would say it's impossible to have too much butter on or in anything, but the garlic bread was soaked in in it. Desert selection limited. Some outdoor sidewalk seating. There was no plenty of seating at the bar if you showed up without reservations, but I recommend reservations unless you're solo and like the bar.I wasn't disappointed, the quality was still high, and I'm grateful this historic SF institution has survived. Business was good, but not mobbed like the old days.Recommended. Ownership appears to still be in the Buich family.

Great service. Excellent seafood. I had the Seafood Saute. Pictured. The oldest restaurant in San Francisco. If you are in the area this is a must do.

The food here is absolutely amazing. Tadich Grill is the oldest restaurant here in San Francisco, but it also has the most delicious dinners and drinks ???.

Fantastic classic bar/restaurant! If you like nostalgia, then you have to stop in here!Great service!

Great food! Great staff! Great service! Crab cakes and Cioppino are to die for! Highly recommend ??

Celebrated my husband’s birthday by having a wonderful dinner here.,We ordered 2 drinks named Aviation ?We loved it, ordered the Rockefeller oysters, it was so yummy and gooey with the perfect amount of cheese over it with a lovely purée spinach. For entrée I took the calamari steak , it was cooked with perfection and had great crust that came with 2 potato wedges and grilled vegetables, and my husband took cioppino accompanied with 2 garlic slices of bread. My husband was very impressed with the size of shrimps (small and big)There were clams mussels and crab meat in it too . For dessert we took a slice of the Belgian chocolate cake, so so sinful ?We will be back again!!

The prices are quite high now here and the food just is not that good. For some reason the petrale soul was quite undercooked even though the mango topping was very good. They used to serve wonderful sourdough bread and I don’t know what the stuff is they bring out now but it’s not nearly as good. Wonderful atmosphere of course in a true San Francisco institution.
