I got to experience the "San Francisco late night pub" life on Friday night. Had a taste for fish and chips but changed it to a salad. For a appetizer we got spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was a too watery and made it hard for the tortillas to grab it and its not the traditional melted cheese from being baked way. Just watery bland dollop of spinach and juice but I was hungry and kept it movin. My cobb salad however was very good! The ratio of ingredients compared to lettuce was perfect, refreshing and light. I got a peach Bellini for a drink and it was good as well. The atmosphere is kinda tight and snug. Not a lot of elbow room but it wasn't crowded. Cleam and well lit with some fancy but simple decor in conjunction to British signatures. The staff was friendly and upbeat. Very good at pay attention to who wants it.
This was a great little pub in the heart of downtown. The food was good and the place was clean. Had quite a bit of TV's however it was very quiet and didn't have a full bar which is why i only am giving it 4 stars. I would certainly return here for breakfast or lunch but hopefully they get a full bar soon.
I came here for breakfast every day during a trip in 2018. The corned beef hash is out of this world and I think about it kind of a lot.In fact, the last day my fiancé told the group we were with that we needed to try someplace else and I almost called off the wedding. Here for work in 2022 and seriously considering what kind of emergency could justify my showing up late with a smile.
No heat. I am admittedly not from San Fran. I went here for a couple of beers and fish and chips. The food was delicious and the beer was well priced but service was a bit slow. My beer would sit empty for long periods before being asked if I wanted amother (there was only one gal working the whole place and outside). There was also a chill in the air the whole time. I asked the bartender if the heat was on the fritz and she said they didn't have any heat at all. I may go back here but only on warm days and then hope for better staffing.
We ate here three different times during a week visit to San Francisco. How nice to visit a pub that actually knows what a Black & Tan consists of ! The dinner food was good filling pub fare and we found the breakfast to be just as excellent. The service was fast and friendly and the prices very good for a city where food is fairly expensive. If we lived in the area, we would be visiting this pub fairly often and there seemed to be a friendly group of regular blokes that like to chat with anyone and hang out there!
For being located in the "fun" part of the Tenderloin, this place certainly has the pub feel and old world charm.Typical but awesome beer selection, and the scents wafting from the kitchen makes it homey. Great pub food and hospitality, making this a respite place for the weary walker.A bit off the beaten path, but worthy of a visit.
Great food and service will be back
the burgers were done to perfection and we're HUGE! Staff was friendly and attentive.
love that they serve breakfast all day. the Eggs Benedict really hit the spot for me.
Nice quaint Pub/eatery short walk from our hotel. Food is excellent as is the service. When you enter you feel like you're in the UK. We will return.
