The place has a very nice vibe especially when you dine in the Patio area. There was nothing very special about the food but it's not bad as well. The only thing I didn't like was the coffee. We had to get a new one at Peet's.
Updated review:The savory crepes are definitely a filling meal with quality cooking, however, the desert crepes are even better! Also, the customer service was excellent; the manager went well above and beyond to make sure I was able to enjoy some great food after a bad delivery experience.Original review (summary):Bad delivery experience through delivery service provider (not directly the Cafe's fault).
Squat and Gobble is a decent chain option. The food is generally good, service is fast and friendly. I had their fish and chips, which you should avoid. The fish portions are small, which means you mostly taste the batter, which has a rather odd aftertaste, like too much Paprika. The string fries are fine, but don't really suit fish and chips, you should have a chunkier chip, like steak fries. The secret of the Marina District Squat and Gbble is the back garden which is delightful. They have made a yard into an oasis, really a good place to eat food and people watch. A very pleasant spot, just order one of their scrambles or crepes, which are good.
My name is Victoria Cererols, I have been coming to Squat and Gobble for the last five years! I live in the Marina district! This is a great place with excellent food! The employees are very professional and they are bilinguals! The very best is chef Reynaldo! I hope I will continue coming here for many years to come.
Wanted to like it more but was a very basic brunch. Had the egg Benedict and ordered a bottle of mimosa with a friend. The macchiato was good. Food was okay, liked the potatoes way more than the eggs. My friend did not like her avocado toast. The ambiance was good, spacious, nice for groups. But nothing mind-blowing.
Delicious dishes. Staff are friendly.Portion is huge. Love it.
The steak and eggs took long enough for my friend to finish his whole meal before it came out. The servers are so rude! One of them looked my friend dead in eye when he asked about my food and she just waved him off and walked away. When my meal did come out, I immediately jumped into the steak. I didn't smell it, but as soon as that first bite touched my tongue and I chewed on it... I knew something was off. It tasted sour, it was absolutely disgusting! Then I smelled it and it made my skin crawl! That horrific smell of rancid meat is still lingering in my nostrils even 7 hours later, i still feel nauseous and am still lacking any appetite. For a cook to not notice that disgusting odor coming from the meat as it sizzled on the stove top! Totally Unacceptable! ??
Such delicious food and coffee abs the service was really fast. The outdoor seating is spacious and cute decor inside.
Have wanted to go there for a bit, but never got around to it; went in evening; 2 of us ordered breakfast entrees - pretty disappointed overall. 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee? set up our own table settings on patio, had to ask multiple times to turn heaters on; ice cold hollandaise from fridge plunked on top of eggs Benedict? orders delivered 10 minutes apart, confusion at register? think the c team was working the evening shift
I had a vegan burger with fries. Fries were good, burger was nice and juicy, liked the pickle on the side. Ambience was good. Well almost walkable from Palace of fine arts.
