I think this place is a tad overrated and overpriced. If you are looking for authentic Greek food, this is not it. This is more like an upscaled and healthier version of the Greek food I was craving. I saw a lot of people also order the Greek frozen yogurt but we didn’t get that. Overall it was good but I will not return as there are quite a bit of more interesting spots to try in Hayes valley.

Souvla's kitchen negligence gave me severe food poisoning and has arrogantly refused to pay for my $3500+ medical bills.February 2022 was my first time trying Souvla, and I had looked forward to it after hearing all about it. Hours after consuming lamb salad, fries, and coke from Souvla, I vomited for 13 consecutive hours, followed by diarrhea. I could not even get down from my bed to go to the Emergency Room during the first half of the suffering period. This dreadful food poisoning incident caused by their food did not only cancel plans and work but also forced me to visit the ER - taking me an entire week to recover afterward.A full meal refund and full medical reimbursement were literally basic courtesy based on how much I suffered, excluding other losses (event cancel fees, missed workdays, etc.). However, I could not believe I was ghosted immediately after bringing up my request to discuss medical bill reimbursement with their upper management simply because my "report of discomfort is the only one we have received." It was beyond disappointing and frustrating to see such a known brand unwilling to compensate customers at loss just because they refuse to admit their kitchen negligence. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.I was previously under the impression that Souvla was a trustworthy representation of the American-Greek cuisine in SF. I guess you truly don't know who has such a greedy and pretentious side until you sink into unfortunate incidents like this. I WILL NO LONGER CONSIDER THIS CHAIN NOR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE I KNOW.

Ordered the lamb sandwich on Doordash. The flavor was wonderful, sauce was tangy and the pita was soft. However, the meat was super dry for the lamb, chicken, and pork. So it really detracted from the experience. They also don't give enough sauce to make for the dryness. I want to believe that I caught them on a bad day because the other reviews say otherwise. I will maybe try another location.

I came here to pick up some food before a picnic. I got the veg salad. It was good but it was a bit too acidic for my liking. It had quite a bit of cheese on top so if you're not a fan of cheese I recommend letting them know. I wasn't impressed by their veg option because it tasted okay, nothing really stood out. But my friends enjoyed the meat option which I didn't try. The fries were good. Also they do not give utensils unless you ask for them so be sure to ask if you plan on enjoying this on a picnic.

Love this place both as a brunch spot, or a spot for a quick dessert in the afternoon. The food is fairly priced for the area, very healthy, and quick. They have lots of outdoor seating, but it’s first come, first serve so you’ve got to keep an eye out. Service was quick and friendly given how busy they usually are. I’m a huge fan of their potato sides, and the Greek yogurt desserts.

Well my friend told me to get the juicy potatoes, Greek yogurt, and baklava ice cream. But I forgot and got the lamb gyro and Greek fries. Stilll delicious now I just have to come back for seconds! We sat on the patio and enjoyed our lunch with others.

Excellent stop on hayes Street. We had a chicken sandwich with a lamb souvlka and a frozen yogurt with baklava. All was great!! Service excellent as well.

This is just my partner’s and my opinion. We respect Souvla’s fan base but are certainly not part of it considering how underwhelming and pricey Souvla is. We got the dinner for two, ordered a sandwich and salad, as well as their baklava frozen yogurt. The sandwiches were such a disappointment and no where near as tasty or satiating as one you’d get from a more traditional Greek spot. The kale salad I will say was good and, if I had to go back, I’d definitely get that. Definitely try the frozen baklava to try something new, but if we share similar tastes you’ll never go back for it.Going for the hype set us back $80 for a rather disappointing meal. We’re happy to have killed the curiosity but always propose something else when a friend suggests it as a meal option.

I've only tried their yogurt. Can't comment on the food. They tend to have a line on the weekends. I think most people in line are trying to get their yogurt? Not sure.Anyway, their yogurt is good. Bitter. Which is what we like.

Greek fast food, the sandwiches are great. Choice of pork, lamb, or chicken. Pork is the best in my view. If you don't want a sandwich they have a salad alternative. Lots of food I've had while in SF seems to have these picked onions which I liked. Very covid safe pick up if your order online.
