This place is a hidden gem. It’s truly delicious and a delightful dining experience. The eggplant is a must-have item (my husband doesn’t even like eggplant and he always wants to order it!). The food comes out fast, straight from the kitchen and every dish is a new experience. I love it here and am always taking my friends! You won’t be disappointed!
Delicious. Highly recommend the hamachi collar, the bacon tomato, bacon enoki, and chicken negi izakaya skewers, and agedashi.A hidden gem in a quiet neighborhood. Lovely place to eat and reconnect with people.
I’ve tried this restaurant twice and honestly it’s one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the bay. Their nigiri on “today’s special” is must try, very fresh and just so tasty. As for the appetizer, you can’t go wrong with the grilled eggplant, daikon salad, and Agedashi tofu.The ambiance and customer service are great as well. You should definitely visit if you are craving some delicious fish!
Hamachi kama was delicious as expected! Good portions, super flavorful and charred. Also enjoyed the shishito peppers and tori kawa chicken skin skewers. Okra was a bit tough. Great place to also get sake!
Arrived 8pm on a Saturday. No wait (surprisingly, half the tables were unseated). Very roomy venue (about 7 tables for 2, 5 tables for 4 spaced well apart and can be combined for larger parties). Ordered Deluxe Sashimi Sampler which came with a side of rice and miso. Good cuts of fish (hamachi, tuna, amberjack, and 3 types of salmon; 15 pieces total) on a bed of shiso leaf and daikon. Servers were very attentive. Overall a nice, quiet dinner in lovely Bernal Heights.
Perfect spot for a date night. Open kitchen, a little rushed by waitress, but they're a busy place so its okay. Natural light hits into the dining room from the side wall. Clean wood decor certainly feels like Japan.Favorite thing was their Miso fish. God that was incredible. All the sushi was good. Portions aren't too big, but enough. Pretty good Japanese beer selection as well.I recommend this little spot.
Best sushi, tori, and sake I had in my life. Great service and friendly staff. One person in our party was Celiac and they were able to accommodate as they offer plenty of gluten free options on a gf menu and they have gluten free sauce. My only suggestion for improvement is to apply some sound proofing as when it's busy it gets noisy.
Outstanding food, great service, this is the go-to Japanese Izakaya in Bernal Heights. If you love skewers, sashimi and Sake, don't think twice!
What a treat to find this place! Excellent food, friendly staff, and great value.I called ahead to ask if they take walk in and they do. When I came at 5:30 PM, there was plenty of seating available. Please do note that it is only indoor seating.I ordered the yakitori, seared tuna tataki, the Hamachi Kama, chirashi don. All were excellent.The bluefin o-toro was so rich! Definitely get that as well!Parking was easy to find. So happy to find such a gem
Wow, this place is incredible. We eat at Michelin star restaurants around the world and this one is on our short list. It’s worth the ride down to Bernal. You won’t be sorry!
