First time visit to celebrate birthday with daughter. Beyond expectation!Foods are delicious and well prepared. Should take a lot of work and the staff is wonderful. A very good experience for a special day. Expensive? Yes but worth it. No complain for a such wonderful dinner.

We sat in the bar area and did the abrudged menu with add on waygu, cavier and sea urchin with sake. The meal was paced well. The disappointment was the duck course. Duck was not tender and the duck saisage seemed too gamey. The plusses were friendly team. The pineapple upside-down cake dessert was awesome. The chocolate treat to take home was wonderful. 1k meal for 2 is not cheap though.

One of the most exceptional restaurants in the Bay Area and perhaps the world. An unfolding of delights in the culinary realm that will absolutely astonish the senses. Tables are uniquely set, and there aren’t many of them. The menu features drinks that range from $30 to $30000. And if that’s not strongly wording the “get out if you don’t have the money” vibe… then the overall per person $400/500 price tag should.Perhaps the price has changed recently?Anyway: (7 or higher is good)Service 8.5/10Plating: 9/10Ambiance: 7/10Table: 8/10 - great woodPricing: 3/10 - yeahLocation: 5/10 - it just… existsCulinary skill: 8/10Flavors: 8/10Dinner was a scant 9+ courses featuring the most exceptional plates I had ever eaten off of. The crystal vessel from which we ate candied nuts probably cost more than my car. But that’s just it… the nuts were ok.Caviar unwrapped from a giant kelp leaf and plated before our eyes was a cute touch and a crowd pleaser. The frozen dessert inside an orange was cute but I could have made it.You come here and spend insane amounts for things you cannot do yourself. And for the most part that held true, but I’d have loved to see more inventive food and double the number of courses.Everything from the ocean was a good showing, but the overall quantity of consumable sustenance just wasn’t there and the service while attentive sort of looked down its nose at us. We’ve dined at every Michelin 2/3* in the area and this was by far the worst value of the lot. One of my companions went to have more food after. There’s a reason they lost their third star, but it’s still a stunning experience and if $500 feels like $100 for you, go wild. Live boldly. Saison is an interesting beast. Perhaps it lived up too well to the pretentiousness expected of it… like a high strung teenager of genius parents trying to make the A+ grade and staying up all night being miserable. Who knows.

They make amazing cocktails, they have an awesome sommelier, their rare food delicacies combined with wine pairing is an experience like no other. The staff is so friendly and it is fun to engage with the chefs which makes it a special experience.

Superlatives all around. From the greeting at the door until the end: every detail was thought out and perfect. Staff were skilled and courteous, food was beyond compare. It was an amazing night and worth every cent.

We all ordered multiple items so we could share and taste everything. Everyone agreed that all items were expertly prepared. No complaints from anyone in our party. Will be visiting again soon.

Absolutely delicious meal. I’ve been to many fine dining restaurants, but Saison has to be one of my favorite dining experiences ever. Each dish was so well balanced and all together it was a splendid, cohesive dinner. Even the dessert, a pineapple upside down cake, was sublime!

Incredibly creative, nothing else like it. I had lamb about 7 ways, bone broth, leg, roast, foam, heart. I sometimes dine alone and they achieved my expectations and more. Very knowledgeable and interactive staff. Variety of tastes and textures was unbelievable. One of my best meals ever.

Food is beautiful and service is top notch. I didn’t like the sea urchin with toasted bread as it tastes too heavy, especially with the sauce. Two bites will knock you out of conscious. They noticed and offered me an avocado version instead, which was much more eatable. The thing I especially didn’t like was being asked to tip even when a 20% service charge was already added. Still tipped though because I didn’t know how much the service charge will go to the staff. I’ve seen more and more restaurants doing this and it’s extremely dishonest.Saison was also the only restaurant in my recent memory charging both a “SF mandate” AND a 20% surcharge, then expecting you to tip. If you want to keep the guests happy, please just raise the menu price and remove the tip section from your receipt.

I came here for my birthday during pandemic and we had the tasting menu with a wine pairing. The food and service were excellent but for the price, I wouldn’t say this was the best Michelin starred restaurant in SF. Worth a visit nonetheless. I would recommend the wine pairing.
